What you recommend for home use (tires, car and bikes, maybe the occasional air wrench for car lugs and small amounts of media blasting, right now I just use the 1/4” HF plugs and couplers with 3/8 air line

I would probably go with the Merlin 5in1 coupler.

Crazy there's so many different types. For those looking for a better quality standard coupling, Foster is made in USA. I bought a set of 14 couplers for only a couple dollars more than the Chinese junk. Been very impressed with them so far. Not sure if they make a safety version or not.

Yeah it's unreal, seems like everyone had their own idea on air fitting designs. Thanks for the info on Foster, It took some digging but looks like they do have a safety coupler USV310.

I'm not sure the test is completely accurate. It would be nice to see the results on the high flows if they were also installed on the compressor. I would think that the way you have it hooked up creates a bottleneck straight out of the tank without that being switched over. I have 1/2" or 3/8", I can't remember which one, out of my compressor and into my sand blasting cabinet as well as the 1/4" through a second valve. I run the 1/4" at a lower pressure so I don't ruin my power tools, and I keep the blast cabinet at 80 to 110 depending on what type of media I'm using and how much I need to clean off of any given piece. If you get a chance to switch that out, I would really find that helpful, even if you just put the results in this comment section instead of a whole new video.

I bought the Merlin safety coupler unsure if the high flow (V style) would fit and also now can confirm it does accept the high flow connectors.

Ran my shop on Milton I/M for years. Now, my personal garage has Merlin I/M. Never had a problem. Great review!

Interesting video, not seen any of those fittings for air system. We use either PCL or Schrader fittings, neither of them are safety locked, although there may be other types used in other industries in the UK.

Interesting I have never seen PCL or Schrader air line fittings. It's crazy the amount of different types you can buy. I know in Japan they use Nitto.

@@Tools-Tested look into Oetiker air couplings. I think you will be very impressed. Swiss invention, unbelievable quality and very reliable, never seen one not leak! Used by Caterpillar, Boeing, Ford. Very high Flow, almost no restrictions, , look into them and you'll be impressed!

The packaging it came in doesn't have were it was manufactured on it. I think it's an error on amazon, when you look up the coupler at other retailers they all say china.
