The expectations, the crazy fans, the amount of time, the rumors, the lawsuit, the infinite hope and love from true fans, and they killed it. FI is beautiful and wonderful. I have never hoped for something so much in my life. A Shit album would have been devastating . But I should have known, Tool is unable to do anything but awesomeness . They are the GOAT. As far as I'm concerned, the guys in Tool do not need to explain themselves or justify why they took this long to release an album. To quote Adam Jones it's not good when it's done it's done when its good. Masterpieces take time. This is Tool we're talking about it.
@FanaticDrummer5 жыл бұрын
To make it simple. Its Maynard. Just like it is Serj, and Corey. All the singers get arrogant and they cause so much division in the bands that made them famous its almost impossible to work with them in studio. Maynard gave all his attention to ACP because it was HIS project, not a equal share band. Same with Serj and Corey and their bands, they just ignore it and everyone else has to wait and bite the bullet. Its honestly better to break up then force an album, this album sounds totally forced. The SOAD album will probably be terrible going by the history of how this goes with bands taking too long of a break.

Couldn't agree more Justin & Danny were on a pod cast made by a musician I forget who it was but Justin mentioned he might have a riff he's been playing around with & he sends them to Danny & asks him to put his work to it see what he comes up with. There was 4 or 5 other musicians in the pod cast but the whole conversation it was really obvious how much the 2 of them really enjoyed bouncing off each other. They were actually like 2 new members excited about working together seeing if they could create some unique starting point to a song. Nothing like 2 members who've been playing & making successful music together for 25 years now.

It's actually great to hear how well they get on, it seems most bands have fall outs but these 4 will say every time it's a total collective effort and give & take in the process of making a song. I don't think I do their efforts justice by calling it a song it's a composition of unbelievable complicated & intricate artistry. You don't get a Tool record by listening to it 4 or 5 times. You still find new stuff there after listening 20 to 30 times at the least. I think that's how their music is timeless.

A true masterpiece. I would love to hear their concept of the album as one continuous track. That would be an incredible live experience.

Fear Inoculum is a masterpiece. 8:45 - Justin Chancellor hit the nail on the head (and circled back to Danny Carey's comment earlier about the product being far greater than the sum of the parts) when he talks about "Descending," and not liking it until he heard it in context with the entire album. Same experience that I had, with not really taking to any of the "leaked" tracks (including "7empest," for god's sake), until I heard the entire album together, then I "got" it, and it was incredible.

That was one of the best interview segments with TOOL I've ever listened to. Super interesting and informative. It gave me a real in depth insight into not only their process but into their individual personalities, their relationship dynamic and the totally unorthodox way they do things. It adds to the mythos that is TOOL.👁

Danny says fuck every other word and he's sipping on a drink, Justin is all calm and hardly ever swears. Lol. These guys are amazing, fan since 98' and just saw them for the fifth time on Halloween night. No band has ever spoke to me like Tool does, their music is transcendent and on another level.

Tool is such an extraordinary group of guys that create the most unbelievable music I’ve ever heard. I’ve been listening to Tool since the mid-90s and first seen them in concert with my sister in Kalamazoo, MI on March 4, 1997. The early music got me through very difficult times because I got lost in it. As they evolved with every stage of their life, they simply got even better. Fear Inoculum was worth waiting so many years for - it left me speechless. It is a masterpiece that shows how their artistry is relevant in any decade. I am going to their concert in San Jose next week and it will be my 21st show. I am very grateful to have seen them in the early days and now at this time of their lives.

Been a fan since '92. But for some reason this album is making me re-listen to the others and I've been getting way different vibes from them compared to when I listened to them before years ago. Amazing. When you hear band mates saying they are proud of their members off-hand, you know it's a great band. Not even Pink Floyd members said this about themselves.

Loved tool since my brother showed me them when I was 12. Been growing up listening to them non-stop through out the years patiently awaiting a new album. Boom 2019 Fear Incolum, and straight after that boom Tool Australia tour, first since 2005.Bought 4 tickets and saw them last friday on valentines day. A total dream come true, best day of my life bar being born. Big time "after concert blues"..so much so a trip the US in the future is now in the cards, just for this fucking band man. My favorite band since 1993. Never got to see them until this year in AC. The show almost didn’t happen. Justin has food poisoning, and Maynard pulled his hamstring hours prior to the show. That show was fucking amazing, the best show I’ve ever seen or experienced. I always missed them for some reason or anther that was completely out of my hands over 20+ years. The fact that they played through injury and sickness is just awesome to the fans. I love it, best band ever. Hands down

I got into too Tool during my freshmen year in high school with only opiate, undertow and aenima albums out at that time. At the end of my senior year of high school laterolus was released and I blown away. I was able to to see tool 5 times with the release of 10,000 days in 2006. My first concert seeing tool was in 2001 in Berkeley, Ca at a high school campus, the opening band was King Crimson, I was with my dad as he grew up to yes and king crimson and raised me to this genre of music and I never looked back. Tool is the only band that heals my pain or if I’m sad or in a bad mood, tool helps me escape. This band is on another level than other bands. Last year(2019) in October tool was tour and they played here in Los Angeles at the staple center. My wife had bought tickets and my parents went with us to the show. My mom not being a fan of heavy metal in general and harder styles of rock and progressive rock/metal growing up. She never really got into tool as I listened to them daily in my teenage years and into early adulthood. My mom surprised me as she has gotten into tool as of recent thanks to my dad. Once she saw them live her mind and the way she saw the band has changed and she is now a huge fan of tool. I’m thankful that I have discovered band .

Really kind of you to take the time to share that story, Daniel. Thank you. What I have really enjoyed with the Fear Inoculum album have been the stories. People getting into them as teens and now listening to FI as adults, as parents in many cases. This music really does trancend simply music or art. It affects people on a spiritual level and that has to celebrated and shared.

Glad to hear what these guys have gone through to make their masterpiece. I and my band have been working on our 3rd album for a year and a half now, and we are close to our master mixdown phase. But there are always adjustments and tweaks that arise. Soon we'll have to put our foot down, but only when we're satisfied.
@toolbandtube4 жыл бұрын
You mean 'The band and I'...?🤓 Thanks for the insight. Can't imagine making something for that long. Don't the tracks start to lose their appeal when you continually adjust?
@sski4 жыл бұрын
@@toolbandtube HaHa! Thanks for the grammar lesson. Was late when I was watching and commenting. Yes, it has taken some time, but no, the tracks only get better and more appealing as time goes on. Just today I was running a mix for the last song on the album (a huge sounding doom metal piece) where I linked up a small acoustic guitar/cello/flute piece at the end, cross-fading in, that I embellished with some wind and bell effects that summed up the bleak, desolate context of the lyrical content before it. Made my skin go goosebumpy. This production is going to be epic. Understand, our band is based in progressive doom metal but we take a lot of our inspiration from psychedelic sources and orchestra enhanced bands as well, such as Pink Floyd and the Moody Blues (even more so lately). If it takes time to produce our vision, then so be it. Here's our channel if you want to check it out: kzbin.info/door/7z1K_AjMLdyYJ18siY0tdg

Oh please, please, I hope they have at least some type of recording demo during the recording process over the years. Can you image the evolution of these amazing songs? Surely some early iterations are just as genius but got changed into a different genius song. Like Davinci painting over one painting with an equal masterpiece... the original lost to history.

Would have the songs on repeat for days. Then on St. Patrick's day 2020 I had a major heart attack. In the operating room they had me drugged but not unconscious. I had "Pneuma" on my text notifications- the whole thing. I got a text during the surgery and my phone went off., full volume.. That whole thing played, I can't remember if it looped at the end or what happened then but man what music. Fear Inoculum grabbed me deep like the Mahavishnu Orchestra did winter 71-72, and like nothing else had in many years. I know Danny's a fan of Billy (Cobham).
