ToonSquid Tutorial Moving Background Parallax Effect.
In this video i explain how you can animate a background pan with a parallax effect in ToonSquid.
I painted the background in Procreate and exported the separate png files into ToonSquid.
It is a background by Disney artist Eyvind Earle he painted for Sleeping Beauty.

Hi, you know you can export all layers at the same time (that are visible) as PNGs 👍🏾👍🏾thanks for the tuts

Personally, I just design shapes/models and scenes in Nomad Sculpt because it has a very nice lighting system. I export these layers to PNG images for Procreate/ToonSquid so that it looks more realistic because the lighting is the same, including HDRI.

You are welcome. The artist that worked on the backgrounds of Sleeping Beauty also worked on the backgrounds of Secret of NIHM. His name is Ron Dias. All of the paintings were done with gouache. When i have the time I will make a Gouche brushset to paint in the style of the old Disney movies and Don Bluth animation. Secret of NIHM was an hommage to the classic Disney movies.

Have you considered: showing Hollywood like visual effects? (particle effects, smoke effects, glowing laser projectiles shooting out of space ships, two soldiers with laser swords fighting) Apologies if this is not your style -> I’m just on a sci fi vibe.

Thanks for this breakdown. I'm looking into ToonSquid and was wondering why there seems to be a bit of jogging or slightly jerky playback both when playing in the timeline and in the final exported video. Is this from the recording software or is it on my end with perhaps a slow connection? Thanks.

It is probably from the recording software. When you render it out and safe it as a MP4, it is smooth.

Just use the keyframes and the properties panel on the right. There you can lower the opacity.
