@@OurElectricEclipse If you want to know, apparently this was not the final build of the boss that they had planned. They had the code for what the finalized, harder version was supposed to be, but accidentally put in an earlier version into the game. They just didn't notice until someone beat it on stream lol. During testing, they realized how op sues were in this fight, and made him cure sue from individual cogs. Also, his rush job cheat where you had to use a specific gag type against a specific enemy, that was meant to choose any gag, even if no one had it. So, both of those changes are now in their right place lol

Yeah, no, this really is just Mettaton as a Cog. The music, the personality, telling the player what they "must" do in order to put on a show, directly "attacking" your game interface with changing the order of gag tracks and randomly locking out gags and speeding up the entire battle (animations and all)... and then what happens at 13:37 (nice) 👀 And it's a nice touch that the "ten second hurry-up shake" of the clock keeps pace with the speed-ups, so it always goes off ten _real_ seconds before end of turn.

Was going to comment this. I’m surprised sues are allowed after seeing how easy the fight is with them. Not sure how many sues they used in total but still. Also failing a rush job is like 25 damage to all players or something so there’s definitely a consequence for it. However when he is the only cog that is going to attack you, your kinda correct.

I've always thought this. That it doesn't feel like toontown, i mean. I think the update itself is very cool gameplay-wise but I continue to find it very weird that corporate clash tries to humanize the cogs because that goes against the entire premise of the game, which was that the cogs were cold soulless robots that invaded and sucked the life and joy out of toontown. If _both_ sides are equally goofy then i don't really see a reason why they can't co-exist together

Honestly, I like to think of it in a Minecraft modding sense. Rewritten is "Vanilla Plus", it's sticking to the original design principles (for better or worse, like keeping the boring grind intact) and adding content to the game that Disney _could have_ added in themselves had TTO lasted into the present day. Corporate Clash on the other hand, is "Modded, bordering on Total Conversion", they're taking the base premise and content, and seeing just how _far_ they can go with it. Both approaches have their place, and both servers coexist for whoever prefers one or the other. Bored of the vanilla experience? Clash got ya covered. New content too overboard? Rewritten'll hit ya in the nostalgia.

@@jimjam2282 I thought about it like this as well (I also prefer the intentional blandness of the original cogs), but then I remembered that Corporate Clash is purposefully trying to be its own thing and that there's not really anything wrong with that. Rewritten will always be there for people who want something pretty close to the original experience.

​@@jimjam2282 Idk, I think humanizing the cogs really works towards the themes that Toontown has always been trying to get at. Toontown Online wasn't originally going to have robotic enemies because the theme of the game was how corporations dehumanize real people. Disney stepped in and had that theme censored more or less, but now clash can come out and explore sympathetic and human, yet still tastefully corporate and robotic named enemies. In particular, I think the joke with this fight is that pacesetter actually is just a human guy. He's not robotic at all and barely has anything to do with cogs, but he's still the hardest fight in the game.

It shows that people are just being used for others gain while reinforcing that this is how it is and how for the longest time neither side seemed to address this issue. also still makes me think how much better are the toons when they made their own currency and make you pay for the weapons to fight in this “war” on cogs. theres a lot i could say, like how toons use a demeaning term to refer to suits since its been shown internally they call each other suits while toons call them cogs. okay that was a lot but yes i like the idea of humanizing the cogs :)
