Edit: People asking about turning it off. When the blade is ignited (on) hold the button down until you hear the power down sound fx. That’s about 3-4 seconds AFTER the blade goes off If you are in multi-block mode, it will not respond to commands until you exit multiblock mode. Also: I forgot to mention Multi Block Mode in the video. Hold the button while swinging up or down, with the blade on, will turn Multi-Block Mode on/off When activated, you don’t have to tap the button to do blaster deflects, just swinging the saber around wildly will cause the effect to trigger over and over to give the illusion you are blocking several incoming blaster shots.

You won’t be disappointed. Crimson Dawn has so much to offer. Granted they have some cores other sellers offer; what you get from CD is a great selection, fantastic customer service, and an interactive Facebook group to discuss customization, DIY fixes, and more. THANK YOU for doing this. I thought my saber was busted because the Smuggler setting didn't light up. Even Crimson Dawn's site doesn't seem to have anything that tells you what Smuggler, Wraith, and Destiny are. The latter two I figured out but I was thinking mine was defective in Smuggler setting but obviously not.

I also learned in playing with the motion-controlled color commands that a very purposeful turn one way then the other seems to work better than a quick wrist flick. You still have to get the timing right, but making it a very deliberate and smooth motion rather than a flick works well.

That’s why I do these videos, because often times they never give you enough info. Although if I’m being honest I played with the new core for a month before making this video, because there was so much I didn’t even know about. As for the motion color commands, I’ll have to give that a try. Because in this video you saw, that was the ONLY time I’ve been able to do it perfectly. Since then it’s been very hit or miss on making that feature work.

Sorry for the long delay, but there was much internal conversation regarding this issue. The motion control on/off is still on the Crimson Core v2. It is advised you contact customer service and include a video showing it not working.

My crimson core v2 lightsaber goes straight to font selection at 4 beeps when it's off. Is this something I can troubleshoot? I would like to turn off motion controls, but it doesn't allow me to, since it goes straight for font selection at 4 beeps with the blade off.

Thank you! It’s a great core for sure. A perfect Baselit Core in my opinion. However, I don’t do videos of included sound fonts because they often change, and because the video would be just a half hour of Sound fx. With no real substance. I like to keep my videos around 15m. Not to mention, with 46 fonts to choose from, I couldn’t identify half of them if I wanted to. There’s so many versions of lightsaber sound fx it’s mind blowing anyone can hear a hum and instantly go “that’s Ashoka!” And if I’m being honest I don’t want to be like “here’s Mace Windu’s” and then deal with comments “AcTuAlLy ThAtS aNiKiN’s” because the quote was referring to the scene and not the character. Lastly, with the removable sd card, included sound fonts are placeholders for the custom ones you can install yourself. I replaced the Darksaber with Lonestar’s from Spaceballs.

Check out my how to: swap your Core Video. The button is raised by a set screw (either two on top or one in the back, depending on configuration) so that it can slide in and out of the hilt

I have a weird glitch you might have run into. I updated the software and now all the different selection beeps are different. Ex: i cant turn motion control off by holding the button anymore, or the clash on and off isnt an option, and it only goes to 5 beeps. Have you run into this and do you know how to fix it? I FRed it but it still does the same thing

You… updated the software? Oh no 😳 tell me you didn’t use the XenoConfigurator app to “update it” that app isn’t designed for the CD sabers which uses a different software. You basically installed a Mac update on a Windows computer 😐

I cannot confirm if it’s fubar. I would start with hopping in the live chat at crimsondawn.com (the ticket system is a little goofy right now. So live chat is your best bet. And see if they can help. Worst case they offer repair services for a small fee, best case it’s free. Give it a shot.

Just got this saber, but i put an armitage pommel on it. Also going to add an accessory extender so i can put a d-ring on it. Question, how do you turn it off completely?

When the blade is ignited (lit up) hold the button down. The blade will turn off, but keep holding the button down until you hear a sound fx that implies it’s “powered down” (also the light on the switch will go off)

Nearly all the same features but with the ability to duel with it. Although I do really like my Crimson NeoCore as well. I like the “cracked” blade and the one ignition sequence that flickers (I forgot the name 😅)

I will update this comment when I know more. But I don’t know of a timeframe right now. However, there is a generic one you can use called “XenoConfiguator” (on iPhone at least. I assume it’s on android too) A couple things to note: 1) the device needs to be real close to the core to connect. And the name of the saber cannot be changed so it will ask if you want to connect to “saber1365926354960” every time. 2) the fonts are listed by number. 1-46 so when you change fonts you won’t see “Vader” or “Luke” Everything else is self explanatory.

In short, it’s a combination of smoothswing and the classic “whoosh” to create heavier tones when swinging harder giving it a more “accurate” feel. I had to research this to get flint an answer, and honestly after 4 videos I could barely tell the difference between smoothswing and the newer accent swings.

As for the app, here’s the link for the iPhone version; but lately I’ve been having issues with it. They updated it and it’s been an issue for me. apps.apple.com/us/app/xeno-configurator/id1658316937 You’re the second person who’s said motion controls option no longer exists. There must have been a change I haven’t been privy to. Currently I don’t have the funds to purchase any new sabers or cores, so I cannot see for myself or make an updated video.

Actually I wasn’t clear 😅 when I said “motion control option” I mean the option to turn them on and off. But! If you got one with the SD card, you can go into the config using notepad, and turn them off that way. Motioncontrols=0 (or something like that)

My young padawan. This isn’t Ultrasabers 😂 EVERY saber from Crimson Dawn comes with 46 sound fonts, RGB color changing blade. Nearly every single thing I showed you in this video is available on every hilt that Crimson Dawn sells. The only real difference is Baselit vs NeoPixel. If you get a NeoCore or Golden Harvest core then you’re getting NeoPixel blade which isn’t super great for dueling but great for everything else. Now, when you check out, you choose Crimson Core V2 with or without SD card. Without you still get all the features but WITH the card, you have the option to purchase sound fonts from other vendors (get the proffie style & watch my video on changing fonts) and edit the config to better tweak the settings to your liking.

Jesus. Thats a lot of features. Im looking for my sons first lightsaber. Hes a toddler so he doesnt need 46 fonts lol. But i have an imperial workshop xenopixel and he loves the smooth swing and blaster effects. I was looking for a cheap base lit saber for him. Do you have any suggestions?

These features are pretty standard for most sabers in the industry. So I would recommend Crimson Dawn for obvious reasons. There’s 2 options for BaseLit and that’s with or without an SD card. You can get a mystery box Baselit saber from them for $80. Now if you don’t mind playing with a config file (it’s pretty simple in word pad on pc) you could get one with the SD card and then edit the config to remove the excess fonts, and I can walk you through that if you wanted. But in all honesty, I’d leave it alone and let him play with it as is. I would suggest turning off motion controls and then you won’t have to worry about accidentally changing anything while playing with it.

“Stunt sabers” with no sound is the disgusting tactic of a company called ultrasabers to sell you a $50 lightsaber for $200. At Crimson Dawn you get a full featured saber no matter which hilt you buy, including the mystery box. “Standard Features across all our saber cores: smooth swing, flash on clash, RGB color tuning, saber lock-up, blaster deflect, and multiple sound fonts” -Crimson Dawn, (on the mystery box page) Now the mystery box product page says “Baselit” and then “Crimson Core v2 +$19.99” thats basically with & without SD card. And no matter which one you choose, will have the features listed in this video. Also, Crimson Dawn offers a 1 year warranty on all their sabers. So you can buy with piece of mind. Edit: I’d also add, since you’re buying for your young child, when you order a BaseLit you can request a shorter blade in the comments section of your order. For example you can say “I’d like a 28” blade” or “can you cut the blade to 30” please” … alternatively I have a video that details how to shorten a BaseLit blade if you’d rather DIY later.
