When typing, how can I differentiate between the universal and FDI system? How will I know wether 11 meant Maxillary Central Incisor or Maxillary Canine???

that has to be mentioned while typing.. or it depends which system is generally used in that area, then it becomes an obvious guess.. other wise u can not differentiate..

the original tooth notation systems had no provision for supernumerary teeth, later additions were made in them to allow that. Though, in many of the newer systems supernumerary teeth can be marked.
