@6:57 I used to be in a clan with "the crazy guy of ladder" 😂 He often uses that MM, recruits, skarrel + a million gobs deck.. might seem like a weird kind of deck but it's not even really that niche, he's def not the only person playing it.. that deck was actually pretty popular for a while a couple seasons ago and is the most popular recruits deck from the past 3 days.. more than any of the classic recruits + hogs variations 🤷‍♀️

I've personally been cooking some very interesting and fun decks. Some of them work incredibly well, like Monk phoenix graveyard freeze executioner tornado zappies goblins which was very similar to other decks of this type when it was released and got a 12-0 on a GC first try playing it and a GC in general (and last time because I prefer less risky CCs). I also created Miner Mortar Horde Arrows/Fireball (depending on meta. Arrows for Archers RN) Monk Firecracker Gob Gang Cannon Cart which has a high skill ceiling and along with the buffs all of the cards received worked really well and is punishing with miner monk tanking for horde gang and great synergies all around. I also made a hog deck with mega minion that hadn't been working very well, but I suspect that if the buff goes through it will be meta: hog, mega minion, mortar, ice/fire spirit, Knight, archers, earthquake and snowball (snowball is interesting in hog but maybe log is better in every hog deck since it's better overall). One unique deck I'm proud of which I built recently is Gob Giant Lumberjack, Balloon, Archers, Hunter, Snowball miner arrows. It works decently but I think I can improve it. It's maybe fine, just some of the cards in it need a buff IMO, like Snowball (enough damage to kill goblins but not Minions (between 202 to 230 on tourney stan.)) and Hunter. The deck works fine in most matchups but can get overwhelmed since it has hardly any swarms, although it has a high skill-cap since its cards require skill and it has a wide array of possible attacks. Goblin Giant switched for Ice Golem might be the play, but that's a tad less creative. I've been inspired to create clash royale decks by my best friend, which was the one who made me come back to the game yet again, but has now quit, yet again (we've both been playing clash royale yes/no cycle, hehe). Creative creations like this make me utilize my creativity to craft my own unique imprint on the game, and help me understand the game better, as well as discovering the numerous possibilities it has to offer. For me, deck creation brings out the best in clash royale, and it's where the core of my having fun playing the game retains. There are so many fun & unique possibilities for card combinations that are overlooked and could be surprisingly good or even just entertaining to play, and testing out my own creations in CCs and friendly battles with my best friend really boosted the playing experience for me. I suggest everyone to build and try their own decks from time to time to freshen the game up. It makes for a fun creative process that can go as far as helping you improve the game. The past couple of months, Clash Royale has fallen off quite a bit for me, and I'm not sure I want to get back into it. This game has been an inspiration for me even since I got into it when the first waves of it hit me, and the amazing masterminds that play it -- like Ryley and Eragon -- show a very sophisticated and well-crafted thought process behind their every-play, and so make me feel really proud I've been a part of such a strategically complex game, which arguably shaped me as a person as I grew up with it. For anyone who's read up to this point and is wondering, I'm 100% F2P, and have had success in reaching close to top 10,000 in the world one season at 2000 rating (on the dot) with Hog EQ, which is similar to the renowned 2.6, which I grew up watching. This achievement and other ones, that include beating Hassasin -- one of the best Pekka BS players -- although with a 100-0 matchup in a modded tournament, those have got me setting the limit for how much more I'm willing to invest in the game. Clash Royale has been a long but ultimately fun ride for me, and it's responsible for a lot of memories of experiences I've had with my addiction to it over the years. I would never willingly have this major part of my life taken away from me, and would strongly object to having it any other way
