I find your and my opinion to be an aberration and fairly uncommon. I do actually believe that lots of good music came out in the 90s.......and that OVERALL, the 90s was comparable to the 80s, musically. I've always opined, and still do, that much of the art of making melodic, catchy, talented music went WAY DOWNHILL in the 90s, much more so than the 80s. I've long, long noticed (one of many examples) that everyone loves Nirvana and hates 80s hair metal. I'm the opposite: By the end of the 80s, I will always be the first to admit that hair metal had LONG grown old and became a self-parody and outlived its purpose and usefulness. However, Nirvana's songs are non-melodic and sound like people who woke up depressed with no passion and creativity. Their so-called 'music' is grating, annoying, stupid. 80s metal has ALL the key advantages over Nirvana and similar 90s genres to Nirvana. It's amazing to me the sheer percentages of people who can't see this and who's musical tastes are entirely the opposite of me...

This is my personal opinion about critics. They’re idiots and they overthink things. This is to dramatic this is too cheesy. The 80s was cheese. The 80s was drama. The 80s were a lot of things. They were big hair a lot of senth and a lot of weird strange. And people have forgotten that Rolling Stone like I’ve said is more of a. Political. Rag then an actual music magazine or even getting into video gaming. My point is clear though critics are morons idiots they think they know what people want but just like everything else they actually don’t because they don’t think like normal people all of the songs with exception of Rick Ashley‘s, abomination where my childhood were me growing up in the 80s, whether it be wake me up before you go-go or the final countdown or we built this city by starship thous songs kept me sane kept me grounded and made hell of a great set of songs for a bunch of great movies that came out of the 80s. I only agree with #8. How dare you put Rick Astley on this list?

If someone invented a Time Machine, I’d jump back to the 80s.

This should be called top earworms of the 80's because you could never get them out of your head when they were hot, you can play them today and you'll still be humming at 24 hours later. But it certainly doesn't mean they were bad.

Not all of these songs are my personal favorites, but most of them are pretty good. I notice the critics' unfavorable assessments are included with every song. Screw the critics!!!
