There are quite a few movies I have to see before I decide whether or not to buy and even then I debate between regular blu-ray vs 4K. It's a budget thing. 😏 Anyway, I picked up Justice League earlier this year and am happy with it. From your list, I really want to get Braveheart, 2001: A Space Odyssey and maybe Jumanji too. So, totally off topic, what kind of monitor is that (brand, size) over your right shoulder? Is it curved?

Out of this list I have the matrix, Infinity war, blade runner 2049 . Blade runner 2049 is clearly the best 4K movie I’ve seen to date best picture quality and sound is amazing. I have a few other 4 K movies. Thinking of picking up Dark knight in 4 K anybody know if that’s has good 4K quality?

Nothing is going to be distributed at 1.43:1 for home media, you need to look for 1.78:1 to fill a 16:9 screen. There's way to much 2.39:1 in the Nolan films for me to add.

hey Andrew first off great review. yes it is hard to make a list of just 10. second i have noticed that some of my 4k movies dont look as different as the blu rays. i have the 4k upscaler turned on does that mean the blu rays are upscaled the same as the 4k movies that are 2k upscaled to 4k? Hope this makes sense.

Hey Andrew, do you have the UK (Sony) release of BR2049? I heard it was noticeably better than the North American disc PQ wise. I have the Canadian release (same disc as the US) and it's one of my best looking titles so I can't imagine how good the Sony disc must look.

If I'm double /triple dipping on the same movies, I want upgraded sound as the price of the discs are too expensive to only get a small upgrade with hdr/4k. These films (predator also) would have had a tremendous benefit from atmos at not a huge cost, but they deemed it unwanted (costs no doubt, but hey let's just say that's how the director intended) Check out braveheart 4k /gladiator /saving private ryan 4k. All look and sound amazing and worth the investment (£20 each) If it ain't got atmos /it ain't getting my money.

Loved the movie and Oasis scenes but found the real world scenes lackluster sadly but deff was a strong contender for this list

Thank you heaps for all your reviews. Am relatively new to the 4k movie scene but splashed out eight months ago and got an Oppo 205 and recently an LG E8. Have only purchased 8 discs so far (Blade Runner 2049 & Saving P. Ryan & Coco & Sing are favourite's) but now saving hard out for an atmos receiver. You will love the atmos, bigger jump then 4k (imo) A quiet place, it, and blade runner will blow your mind.

Blade runner 2049 is just so dark to me in hdr

Really? I found it to be a brighter transfer than most

I had that problem on my samsung. If you have it set on any setting besides dynamic the picture on 2049 is almost blacked out. Also in dark scenes with Lionsgate titles, their hdr encoding causes a bad flicker. Still can't fix that.

@@ARMediaOfficial looks stunning on my b7, not as vivid on my led tvs though (900e and dx750). I sometimes think hdr has an inferior picture to sdr on led tvs as it ramps up the backlight diminishing contrast..

Yeh I found the pic to be a bit dull too. Was expecting the neons to really pop but wasn’t really blown away. The atmos on the other hand was great!
