Waterworld destroyed my faith in movie theaters. We were forced to watch it when I was at elementary school. Simply awful movie. There was no plot, just mutants and lots of water! I don't know why people give it so much slack as I find it a realistic view of the world she portrayed. Where others see over the top acting, I see someone trying hard to hide themselves, by being hammy and deflecting, all while trying to pursue a dream which gives justification to her life choices, and once given a taste of fame; like many, will do almost anything to keep it. I think people hate on it because of its graphic look at a lifestyle they don't understand or want to imagine, a peak behind the curtain, which worked really well. People fear that which they do not understand. Hopefully none of the haters ever find themselves in need of seeking employment in the industry but many, many do.

Taylor Kitsch's career is such a strange thing. He's a very traditionally attractive, handsome man, with basic to average acting skills. He's the quintessential Hollywood hunk. So many actors did and still do build a career on good looks and so-so acting, but he didn't. I wonder what went wrong with him.
