can't list a top 10 cause didn't have the time to listen to all the albums that came out this year but I can give you a top 3 with a little bit of insight from personal point of view 3. Wintersun - Time 2 This album was probs the most anticipated of this year and I think it did not really deliver to the hype... I mean it is a great album, especially when you listen to it a couple of times, but it falls short to the years of waiting... anyhow it gets the third place for me 2. Swallow the sun - Shining like you said, people either love it or hate it... for me, I couldn't bring myself to listen to it first because of the single releases... they felt way more "radio hit songs" rather than your usual sts experience... but in time when the record had come out fully, I gave it one more change and voila! It hit really hard to the longing of the melancholy and it is a gem in their discography. 1- A Wake in Providence - I write to you, my darling decay Can't even describe in words how good and touching this album is. In my personal point of view it is the album of the century. Thank you for your videos! They are really entertaining. Have a heck of a christmas and a happy new year \m/

Great picks! I would say Gaerea's album was my favorite this year. Loved the sounds they went for here. Also Fleshgod Apocalypse was amazing! And, I would through in Crippled Black Phoenix's two records. They were really good.

Thanks for the amazing videos through the year 2024 , awesome job 🤘. I found that this year, we had female lead singers like Charlotte Wessels and Simone Simons who had released Solo albums this year ( the obsession and vermillion are amazing by the way) Have proven to be that the Netherlands, can be a great metal 🤘🧡 country like Sweden 🇸🇪 and Finland . Let's not forget floor Janson who also released a Solo album and incroyable voice.

Hi there, amazing approach to review your top 10! Here are some of mine top albums: 1. Without any doubt: Iotunn Kinship - the same as you, if you are coming back again and again to one record, this screams your liking; 2 to 10 (or whatever the number is) in no particular order: Borknagar, Dark Tranquillity, Opeth, Cemetery Skyline, Wintersun, Anubis (I know, I know its not metal), Nightwish,… Obviously I have to give a listen to some of yours, as some of them I never heard of, and maybe I will find something special. But again, I was wondering if Borknagar`s album will be my No1, but then Iotunn`s Kinship arrived and because for me personally Insomnium`s Winter`s Gate is one absolute masterpiece, and I hear a lot of similarities with Kinship, there is no any ones else, who comes even close. Piece!

When I make a top 20 or 25 list, all ten of your choices would likely make that list. I know that Iotunn and Kanonenfieber would be in my top 5, with Iotunn as my favorite of the year. Also high would be the albums by Ihsahn, Goat Major, Gatecreeper, Seven Spires, Summoning the Lich, Anciients, Leprous, Oceans of Slumber, Blood Incantation, Lowen, The Crown, Kozoria, Grand Magus, Neon Nightmare, Qaalm, Witchpit, Thy Catafalque, Opeth, Bedsore and The Gates of Slumber. It now looks like I have a top 30 list and I know that I have missed some. Edit: Three more - Lucifer, Crypt Sermon and (how could I have missed this band) Judas Priest

It's a shame that you narrow your lists to artsy, buildup atmospheric type of metal. Where's the fun album that consists of straight up bangers. An album like Undeath's More Insane is just that. Have you even listened to it? Is it just too raw and too much to the point for you? A killer album with great riffs straight in your face. That's what I listened to the most this year. Not this fluffy artsy hour long albums with super long intros and outtros, thats for sure.
