Cheesecake is greek and shouldn't be in this video Donuts come from the netherlands (deutsch people brought it to america) Cookies come from Iran (persia at the time) and shouldn't be in the video (although it was popularised in america) Pies come from Italy but were originally made in England. Cake comes from ancient egypt, and medieval england made fruitcakes. In the honorable mentions, sorbet is Italian / French Sherbet is Turkish. Ice cream was first created in china. Sorry... For me, as an European, typically American is this: frozen yogurt (I've never tried it although I see it in movies all the time), brownies, cupcakes (and muffins - I saw them in America for the first time), pie (what we call a pie here is completely different) and Jello. I am not sure about pudding since I don't think it is typically America; we had them over here everywhere for decades.
