Qix, Venture, or Warlords should have made the list instead of Scramble… it was basically Super Cobra.

I still have a Galaga table top machine I bought in 1982 when i loved the game and had no kids or mortgage and had more money than i knew what to do with it :)

hard to argue with no 1 ...1981 was the start of the golden era of arcade games...we were lucky to be a part of that at aged 13 lol

as it is now these games are there on consoles and multi game arcade machines if you want to play them bad enough...I have 400 scattered between my 5 game consoles...im buying a cosmic 3 2000 in 1 arcade machine later this year...and on the weekend of march 15 I am going to attempt to break the 1942 twin galaxies world record set by matthew bedard...I recorded the highest score ever seen on 1942 on my 360 4 weeks I posted it on twitter..14.171 mill...the WR IS 13,36 so I am gunning for it in 10 weeks :)

Yup Galaga is a classic...the WR was recently broken with a score of 25 mill makes my effort of 8 mill back in the 80s look pedestrian lol

Maybe this is just a subset of the list I saw a few days ago for the 1980s. But it seems random or personal preference rather than having any deeper meaning like top-grossing titles.

Loved Gorf, best score was about 290,000 I think, about 160 screens. You lose concentration in the end.

Personally I think vanguard, omega race or stargate are much better games then that fantasy game in 1981... just my .02 cents
