skillcoiler Maybe you have a point but most movie makers do it. plus his recent films Django and inglorious bastard are very good and nominated for academy awards. his style in making movie is the same just like Scorsese. the general theme for their movies is almost the same since the 70s.

Asking Tarantino about the use of violence in his movies is like asking a comedian about the use of insults.

Tarantino actually had a lot to say about violence in his movies right before this moment. This clip was inaccurately described and taken out of context. The interviewer asked, out of the blue, "But why are you so sure that there's no link between enjoying movie violence and enjoying real violence?" And Tarantino rightfully shut the guy down, for putting words in his mouth and trying to incite an argument that didn't exist. Tarantino replied with something like "I am not your slave and you are not my master."

I'm with Quentin Tarantino on that point. While he surely could have answered a bit less aggressive, implying that a violent movie has negative consequences in real life is very provoking considering Tarantino has heard such things over and over before. And beeing a bit ... weird, is what makes him so special. The violence in his movies is a stylistic device, so why try to make it something bad? It'd be like having Stanly Kubrik asked why he would want every shot to be perfect. That's just a part of him.
@TheSuetemorp
@TheSuetemorp 9 жыл бұрын
Also violence in his movies is so exaggerated and stylized thats is absolute unreal. The host looks littlebit arrogant and behave like hes above these "low" movies imho...Massacre of crazy 88 for example is comics-like fun. True horror and gore you can see in news from the world...

There's a reason he has 21 grammies and all of his albums have occupied a number 1 spot in multiple music lists. Not to mention according to Billboard he has one of the greatest albums of all time (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) and he is one of the greatest artists ever according to Rolling Stones. And he is an artist- in fashion, music and film with the release of his short films and his clothing line, and of course his albums. Kanye's influence in modern hip-hop isn't something you can ignore, with The College Dropout being a large factor to the death of gangster rap when it outsold 50 Cent in the early 2000s. Not to mention everything he's done for rapper Big Sean. You can call him an asshole all you want, but to say he isn't important and not talented is just ignorant.Audrey Catherine
@audreycatherine736
@audreycatherine736 9 жыл бұрын
So awards define music, huh? Why should I be persuaded by someone who thinks music is some absurd billboard contest? Art is subjective, and Kanye's work, _to me_, is not very good. His ego is bigger than his influence, and that atrocious, condescending attitude is why I don't respect him. His accomplishments don't change that. Real artists create for the passion of it, Kanye creates to gain praise. Let's end this here, because the "stop disliking what I like" arguments warrant no discussion.
@mayflowerwolves5444
@mayflowerwolves5444 9 жыл бұрын
+Audrey Catherine I agree with you. You're not alone. All these Kanye fans are such ignorant and blind people that don't know what real music and talent is. I think they win grammies cause their fans vote for them just cause they make music about sex and that's what their stupid fans want to see and hear. Such dumbfucks right?

It's because the interviewer was talking about his acting and writting career in an interview that was supposed to be about his band. He was deeming his serious music career as a hobbie. David Fernandez You just have to say, MJ was too good for this world. You can tell that he thought of things differently. He never wanted to sleep with groupies like his brothers did. He was uncomfortable with the idea of sex. He thought of sleeping with children as literal, sleeping with them not having sex. People didn’t understand what he meant.

Jason Gould I think it's strange to blame the interviewer. His job is to get whatever causes the most outrage out of the interview. Journalists don't care about having compassion for the person opposite them, in this case the difficult times robert downey has gone through. If anything, the interviewer will get a promotion and I'm sure we will see a lot more of him. Yay for the media! **sarcasm** :)
@Edditaur

I just find it strange that he's now been responsible for two botched interviews due to asking questions unrelated to the matter that he was actually meant to be interviewing them on. And his response is always "Well I was just asking". Maybe he is this great journalist, and maybe he is this great champion of human rights issues, but from the look of things he can't conduct interviews for shit. I reckon he might want to focus his talents elsewhere, lest he upset yet another person with some out of left field question.

GeuwgleSuxBallz Because it seemed very phony--as though the guy wasn't in love, and was merely trying too hard to sell an image. There's some book that came out recently claiming that the Church of Scientology actually stage-managed that marriage from start to finish, again to promote a certain image for Mr. Cruise. I don't care about his personal life per se, but the whole Church dynamic is very odd and fascinating.
