I can totally confirm the Platnium rule is one to live by. I made a mistake once and began flirting with this coworker I had at a job once and after a few months, it just got awkward between us. It got bad enough that both her and I had to work different shifts so we wouldn't butt heads.

There's so much in that show they couldn't have done in 2016+ especially. Not just the men, but in how the women in the show had their own sexual agency they were responsible for. No one got a free pass, and that's one of the reasons it's one of my favourite sitcoms.

Either way things would eventually go to hell anyway, so this is not an issue, even a half decent date will have the person thinking about the other for more than 48 hours, so by all means wait, NOBODY wants to date a needy, desperate person.
