One of my favourite tips I've learned is to cut your thread at an angle and that will make it easier the thread the needle. It's honestly been life changing.

Brilliant idea to straighten bent needles! I've been trying to do it just with my fingers and it hasn't worked at all - the needle just moves. Using pliers made it so much easier! Thanks

I've bought some from michaels, note sure the brand and some Tulip loom needles I believe size 10 (0.5mm)

Your work is so inspiring. I've been a beader for a long time but have never done embroidery and I'm aching to learn. I think these tips will help a lot. Something I learned from Turtle Soup Beads is that you can make your own stiff felt by using either watered down glue or floor wax. I tested it out and it works. You can use any color felt too.
