A lot of these companies advertise the guns as 1,400 feet per second 1500 ft per second yes that is using a super lightweight non-lead alloy pellet, and in reality unless you're using a slug you do not want to be going that fast anyway the optimum speed really is 950 at the most to keep the pellet out of the transonic and supersonic zone that leads to instability and inaccuracy

My favorite gun for shooting is the Umeax Gauntlet 2 in 30 cal. with Rifle Slug Series 7.67 hollow point 60.8 grain. This gun is however, pretty heavy to carry and is slow to acquire your target. It is a good hide hunter and will easily hit 100 yard mid sized game. I was hitting nickel sized bulls eye target at 80 yards using my truck to steady my shot. Lots of fun at a reasonable price.🧔‍♀

And if you can afford it and you are into air rifles even if you get one of the starter guns like a Avenger or hatsan Flash go with a PCP gun you'll never go back to a Springer

Don't use pistols for pest control, they are usually too weak and too hard to shoot precise enough. Get a rifle and do it properly!
