Acrobat armor works great with explosive shotguns. Jump from high point to high point without fear of taking falling damage. The gun becomes a mini MIRV. You are far enough away that you won't take explosive damage, and all missed shots hit and explode right next to your target.

If you have Nuka World and the Surveillance Creation make yourself a kill box at the Nuka World Red Rocket (their is only one spawn and its easy to enclose) then roll Gunners, later waves on Very Hard will sometimes have 2-3 Legendary Enemies. If your trying to Loot Lock, by save scumming the first time you go to the Institute, and enter the FEV labs one entrance leads directly to the storage area, that almost always spawns a high level Assaultron who can yield things like Explosive Minigun's and Two Shot Gauss Rifles. Alternatively you can go to the National Guard Training Yard, you can save scum at two points, once at each entrance as you progress through both buildings. The first area tends to spawn a Legendary Withered Ghoul who will spawn upwards of Hand Made Rifle's and Plasma weapons. The second area of that location will spawn a Legendary Glowing One which is a good spot to get your hands on a coveted Explosive Minigun. Hope that helps ;D Their's other locations obviously but those are the three main ones I remember, sadly the first one can only been done once I believe as the robots that spawn in the FEV area do not respawn.

A semi auto explosive shotgun with a medium-long range scope gives both long ranged and short range devastation. A silencer makes it insane at range. Best weapon in the game.

I just got my first explosive minigun two days ago. Holy Shit, that thing really is as OP as people said it was! Having Heavy Gunner, and explosives expert maxed out makes ranged combat almost instakill. Unfortunately, much like when I got my first explosive shotgun, I need to learn how to stop suiciding.

Probably my favorite weapon in the game is the .38 pipe gun with the Explosive effect. Sure, it doesn't deal as much damage as a shotgun or a minigun, but that can be a good thing, as you can render yourself almost completely immune to its damage at close range with some dense armor. Combined with the extremely plentiful ammo, it makes it hard to need any other gun for most of the game.

In my previous playtrough i had a auto pipe pistol with the cripling effect, having this effect on not so good guns makes any gun massively OP. This type of ammo you will find anywhere and mostly you have the most of that kind. Cripling enemies with your pistol and finishing them of with another stronger rifle, you will survive anything at that point.

I am really pleased with the Legendary weapons I have acquired so far that I use regularly and really enjoy. In the order I acquired them: A Two Shot Pipe Revolver I named Rusted Rose. A Wounding Auto Rifle I named Bloodletter. (I have not purchased any FO4 DLC. Yet. So that name was a surprise to hear.) An Explosive Shotgun I named Mutual Destruction. An Instigating Sniper Rifle I named Logic.

Got an explosive combat shotgun pretty early on in my very first playthrough, because I was so young it didn’t realize till much later how lucky I was. I guess in hindsight I should have figured it out earlier since it was one of the only weapons I continued to use throughout the entire game.

I got an Instigator Musket Laser which I named "General's Judgement" and, BOY, isn't that the luckiest catch I ever got! It basically make a six-crank be the same as a 12-crank, which is ridiculous!

The best effect is handsdown the Sentinel's - if you have all 6 armor pieces and a weapon with this effect you get NO damage while standing still. Yes I mean NO damage. You become completely invincible (unless you fall off a building 😁).

I'm play for the first time, my favorites so far are 10mm auto pistol with bleeding damage and a hunting rifle converted to a 50 cal sniper that shoots two projectiles. The bleeding damage really makes up for the smallish 24 round mag

While niche the irradiated effect is really good when you have nuclear physicist because you’re going to be doing 100 radiation damage per shot, which means anything that’s not immune to radiation damage is subject to being microwaved by whatever gun it’s on.

I have an explosive combat shotgun and it is fantastic. So far I'm level 116 in survival mode with it. As long as I am far enough away I can take down pretty much any threat. I loved using it in the glowing sea.

IDK... He didn't take into account the double recoil that also seems to come with that 2-shot effect. Do an accuracy check with a dozen shots from the Overseer's Guardian against the nearest wall. The spread is all over tha place. Then try the same for a combat rifle with the same mods and look at the nice tight cluster. My guess is on a mini gun it would suck.. The 2-shot should drop down 2 spots after the poison and stagger..

Something I wish they would’ve put on the energy weapons in the absence of the explosive effect is what I would call the “volatile.” Legendary effect. Basically on kill the enemy explodes dealing damage proportional to the damage dealt. Which means weapons like flamers and Gatling lasers would be less effective, while lasers and plasmas would be more effective.

The internus Gatling laser in the Nuka World DLC can be very strong in fact it is very strong the only downside is if you accidentally take out all the ammo and the Gatling laser you can never use it again unless you reload a save

I have a combat shotgun that does 50% more damage on humans. It’s awesome. I have a silencer on it and run through raider forts and they’re dead before they know what just blew em apart. I also just got a combat rifle with radiation damage. I haven’t played with that much yet.

one time i got an enraging .38 about 15-20 min into a survival mode build (can't even remember what i was trying to play as)... gave up on it after a few hours because it was soooo simple to sit back and vats crits-spaz the toughest enemies into beating the piss out of one another, which got me into locations that were otherwise nigh-impossible at single digit char levels. ended up with so much amazing gear so quickly that it became embarrassment of riches and sucked the fun out of everything.

Another good VATS enhanced weapon is the VATS enhanced laser rifle when you give it a short barrel and replacing the stock with a pistol grip. If you have enough action points or are using VATS enhanced armor you can actually get about 17 shots while using VATS

The freezing gatling laser has far better damage than any other gatling laser legendary effect. It's far more powerful than the fake "25% extra damage" mighty gatling laser. I've only ever unlocked one, and my character (owing to truly extensive farming) has unlocked four explosive miniguns.

In my latest survival replay, I got a freezing and an explosive radium rifles, super lucky. The freezing + gun fu is definitely more OP and fun than the explosive gun. I renamed it Nuclear Winter because it mass freeze a crowd with endless crits and also apply radiation damage.

Lucky indeed in a turn of survival. Use 'overdrive' (the chem) and perhaps lower damage output to standard capacitor so as to not kill weaker enemies, and you can literally freeze everyone in a given fight. Bit of fun. Also, "wounding" can be a riotus gatling laser, as when attacking a post-game damage resistant enemy like a warlord, mythic deathclaw, or venomous angler, one may cease firing when foe is around 30% health, and they will continue to lose health till death over the succeeding several seconds. There was a delay on those wounds.

I honestly hate the never ending effect. I get it can be mad busted for the double barrel, rocket launcher etc but it makes a lot of situations boringly easy in survival mode. I wish I knew if a legendary mod rework of sorts. But gotta say I love the rapid effect. I like the wounding effect for some guns (needs to be nerfed imo) explosive effect is too much chaos for me though but still amusing to mess with.

Take "Demolition expert" to double the explosion damage and mod the weapon to be automatic. This should improve your experience with the 10mm. Explosive is really good as long as it's on an automatic weapon.

my favorite thing to do on a melee blitz character is to get 100% vats cost reduction which unfortunately doesn't make your action point cost zero and then spam melee attacks like a mad man also vats on survival is very possible I'd also like to mention the amount of cheese that you can pull off with the right perks for example with the penetraitor perk you can shoot through walls in third person so no need to get out of cover which is broken at its finest also vats makes you untouchable when shooting and whilst it drains the fusion core quickly vats in power armor is very viable if you need even need it and some of the legendary power armor pieces in the game affect vats especially the XO-1 quantum power armor

I'd like to mention that the fusion core drain is somewhat manageable with the nuclear physics perk and the repair bobble head so not that bad even if you only use it in a pinch not to mention your protected in and out of vats making you boarder line immune to damage to some extent

Yeah, after perks, bobbleheads, things just sort of fall over from the amount of bullets. I did a video a few years back on Most Damage or something like that. Was able to get a rocket sledge to deal 34,000 just on the item card screen.

I got two legendary Gauss Rifles, Knee Capper's Gauss Rifles and the Last Minute I'm choosing the Last Minute I got two explosive weapons, a 10 mm pistol and the Spray N Pray On paper my 10 mm does more damage by like 2 points but since the Spray N Pray weighs triple what the 10 mm does, I'm leaving the Spray n Pray for the 10 mm 10 mm weighs nothing, even though the Spray n Pray holds more ammo I'm going to be swapping between the two I got 2 "Two Shot" Rifles, One Two Shot Laser Musket and Overseers Guardian I use em both but man they're heeeeeavy

I don't know. I think explosive and wounding effects are pretty equal. It all depends on the application and the situation. Against a clusterbleep of bad guys I like explosive. Against higher HP enemies I like wounding better. Tough call but if i had to choose I guess I would choose explosive because I just like explosions.

Righteous was awesome till I found limitless potential laser rifle. You never have to reload it. Then you can upgrade to the strongest capacitor which normally has low ammo capacity so you get the high damage and still never have to reload. But not thinking about reloading I ran out of cells once cause I wasn’t having to reload so just make sure you have plenty of cells.

I've been pretty lucky in my first survival mode playthrough that I recently started. I got an instigating 10mm in the co-op with a pistol build A meme unlimited ammo double barrel shotty. Then a double shot hunting rifle that I might make .38 some day since I already have the overseers Guardian So far the 10mm is the best... It's basically broken since I'm having to be a spooky sniper.

during my second playtorough, i constantly got shitty melee weapons with shitty effects while i was running a sneak pistol build. Then i got a never ending gamma gun and put Lorenzo's artifact on it, its simply ridiculous. After that i got a two shot western revolver. Its actually two shot not because of its effect, but because i can two shot almost every enemy in the game (Mirelurk queens and deathclaws included )
