my first rc was a 2wd slash and its very easy to work on cheap to mod and very durable, ive changed every possible thing on it and i cant tell you how much of a tank it as been. I beat on it over and over and it takes it like a champ.

Nice dude! A great rc car indeed, I do highly recommend changing the turn buckles to metal ones like mentioned in the video, the first 1 or two crashes and the break 🤔 besides that that's all I needed to replace

I just got a 124019 and I love it. I have had RC cars since 1990 and have owned everything from Kyosho to Traxxas; it has to be the best deal I have ever bought in RC. I am really glad that you can get such quality fun cars for a price that isn't as much as rent or a mortgage payment these days. The big guys had better start making some lower priced cars like this or they're going to be in trouble.

My first hobby grade RC car was a Marui Hunter in the 80s (yes I'm that old!) And my actual favorite might be my Arrma Vorteks 3s or maybe my Axial Scx10.

HI Matt my first electric RC was a Traxxas can't remember the model but it was when servo's moved the speed controller to go forward and backward there was no such thing as lipo battery and no mobile phone and yes 58 years old and still playing with RC car's my favourite is my wltoys 124019 with a 3660 motor and 60 AMP ESC as always Matt your videos are awesome cheers

I wasn't around back then dude so I've never experienced the mechanical esc haha. But when I first started, we were all using NiMh batteries for racing, those were terrible! I had one exode on me, much more dangerous than a lipo 🔥 glad you liked the video mate 😀 and I love the 124019, brought two, buying another soon for a fun project, stay tuned mate!

My first hobby grade RC was a Hosim 9155, the 9125 is awesome too! You should check them out and do a video on them sometime. I love my 9155.

Great video mate I love these top ten vids I might have the drift truck on my hit list, first rc car was a tamiya hornet I'd recommend the big rock as a beginners rc car cheap, durable, fast, aggressive, 4wd, looks bad ass and soooo much 👊👍💯

Awesome list Matt.I vouch for 2wd Traxxas and bigrock🙂. Got 2wd stampede, the brushed version it self will bring a lot of fun. I've upgraded with Surpass hobby brushless and beat stock Arrma vortex on speed Run. Wheelie bar set closest to ground of course as it's a crazy wheelie on demand machine. Bigrock is lots of fun, crazy bashing stunts and capability to be upgraded to 4S. Cheap hack for the motor mount issue, cut and shape my old slipper and wedge it between the motor and chassis🤣. Unfortunately I'm the un lucky one that have bearings issue with my motor. Have replaced with cheap bearings that only last for 2 run. Replaced with Plaig bearings they are quality bearings 👍. Happy days 🙂

Yeah dude, my bearings got destroyed too but I didn't realise it was a common problem, I thought it was because I ran it on 4s haha, I've replaced mine with a hobbywing now. I had a 2wd rustler, I put a cheap hobbywing knock off system in it and wow! It was so fast on 3s that I couldn't keep it controlled properly haha

@@MatthewSimm Mine was damaged while still using the stock 3S ESC. It's running Max10 4S, with stock motor now. So far the replacement bearing still hold up. If and when the motor fail on me then I'll replace it. Once you go 4S, don't want to go back to 3S 🤣. Thanks Matt, as always great content 👍

First RC car was an Ofna Ultra LX Pro 1/8 nitro buggy back in the day. (Quite sad that nitro seems to be dead nowadays, tbh) Very surprised the 144001 isn't on this list!

Yeah one of my first rc cars as a kid was a nitro tamiya! I would like another one! The 144001 is amazing but the 124019 is basically just a longer version so I only did the one 😀

Excellent video my mate! I don't think many people get it right with their top 10 this and top 10 that but these certainly are the best beginners rc's for sure! My personal favourite is the 144001 if you can get one for around £60 on banggood it's by far the best value for money RC out there 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

I think if you're a teenager 12 and up, you should get the brand name like traxxas or arrma, caz sooner or later you will get tire of those cheaper rc car, but with the brand name rc, as you upgrade them, there are still very stronge and tough on whatever you throw at them.
