What is your GOTY?

My GOTY 2024 was Capcom's action/strategy hybrid Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. I think it was the most innovative game of the year, with really cool enemy design and a great art style. The normal game feels a bit too easy and unbalanced at times, but doing a "no upgrades" playthrough was a really fun and challenging experience.

Definitely a solid list! I've still yet to boot up Echoes of Wisdom, which is pretty sad considering I normally play Zelda games on day of release 😅 Awesome video, brother!

Dude, totally!!! My Playstation Wrap-Up showed me that almost 70% of my playtime was spent in RPGs. What a fantastic year.

Prince of Persia is one of the best metroidvania's I've ever played (Also the DLC). And I played a lot of good MV's this year: Tales Of Kenzara: Zau has a well acted story, but is a bit simple for the genre. "Rusted Moss" has some exotic gameplay with swinging and shooting mechanics. "Rebel Transmute" is a NES Metroid game where they don't explain how the powers synergize, and you feel ingenious when you break into areas that almost feel like sequence breaks (but aren't). Also "Animal Well" for it's open ended dungeon and intuitive mechanics for figuring out odd powers. Oh and Crypt Custodian is a top-down Zelda-like Metroidvania. Really fun. When you beat the game, it also has a randomizer built in to the game. Rebirth is great but I haven't finished still, lol. I passed on P3 Reload because I played the original, but it does look like a good excuse to jump back in. I also have Pacific Drive as one of my top experiences this year. For the thinkin' puzzle guys - Let's Revolution! (Minesweeper puzzler), The Land Beneath Us: Grid...puzzle...tactics...roguelike? Also Arranger for sliding puzzles. Pepper Grinder came out on PSN this year, and was a perfectly-sized digging game with time trials. Also Balatro. Because I didn't finish Rebirth, I kinda want to give the Game of the Year to Pacific Drive or Prince of Persia.

Thanks for all the recommendations dude! I played a couple of the games you mentioned and I agree that Balatro and Crypt Custodian are fantastic. Rusted Moss wasn't really my thing, as well as Tales of Kenzera and Animal Well, but I totally understand what people like about them. All in all a brilliant year for gaming

Love the content and nice list! The original FF7 is and will always be my favorite game of all time, so seeing that world come to life in Rebirth was a dream come true. Unfortunately a lot about the game (mostly late non-sensical story beats and repetitive open world features) grinded the joy of it out of me... But I'll always have that wonder of seeing it come to life in the first half of my playthrough. And the music... Kills me every time. Forever ten years old.

I stumble across a lot of 'small' gaming channels these days and usually they have super poor quality and/or extremely annoying commentary. And that's what I expected from this one as well. But man, this has to be one of the best top 10 rankings I've seen in a while. Very well done. You've gained my sub. Oh, and my GOTY would probably be Final Fantasy XVI which is a bit of a stretch, because it launched last year on PS5, but it got released on Steam recently and I've just picked it up. Unicorn overlord was amazing. First Vanilaware game I've played and I absolutely loved it. I didn't play the Zelda game but my wife and daughter both did and loved it. I haven't played P3 and with all the different versions and what was left out of Reload along with the very real possibility that we will get a "P3 Azure" at some point, I didn't have that much interest in grabbing it. Dungeons of Hinterberg is more in my wife's wheelhouse and I got it for her and she really liked it. I really want to get Metaphor but I heard the PC port left something to be desired and I don't have a PS5. Also I have so many games I need to play I knew I wouldn't play it for a bit. Also like with p3 reload, Atlus is known for its definition editions so always leery of buying the first version. I'm not playing FF7 remakes until is complete and I can get it all at once. Fantastic video man. Love how many great experiences you had gaming this year.

@@feiitogaming well I consider the original final fantasy 7 the 4th best mainline final fantasy and the 5th best that fantasy (6, 9, 10, and tactics are all ahead of it) so it wasn't like with you and Fillets where it's your favorite RPG of all time. Mine is suikoden 2 so pretty stoked for the remaster of that.

I bought a lot of old games on sale this year, some new games, and beat three new games: _The_ _Last_ _of_ _Us_ _Part_ _II:_ _Remastered,_ _Stellar_ _Blade,_ and _Astro_ _Bot._ _Astro_ _Bot_ was my favorite. I’m not commenting on games I didn’t beat 😅.

Nope, no Black Myth Wukong. The game was alright but I dropped it since it got pretty boring, repeteive and simply had nothing new to offer after around 10 hours, only bosses with mechanics that felt either a bit cheap or simply dumb. At least for me. I get what people like about it and that's fine but on the other hand I think it's nothing special.

@@feiitogaming the game has nothing special !!! , its an action boss rush game , every boss is unique i dont know how you felt boring ,it has the best bosses ever seen in any action light rpg game , even souls game has not that quality of bosses few of them are good , gamplay is fantastic with much varity , story is staning. finaly its your top its ok. my top 5 2024 : 1 blackmyth wukong 2 metaphor rephantasio 3 shinmegami tensei 5 vengence 4 steam world heist 2 5 final fantesy 7 rebirth
