Lego's were not invented yet when I was a child. I had a Lincoln Log set, and my oldest brother had a metal erector set. Both are now worth hundreds of dollars. Wish I still had them.

Ok let’s be honest, we all love the pre 2012 lego city sets but let’s be fair, a lot of them were very basic and didn’t have anything special to them, like I get the 2007 and 2010 fire stations mixed up because of how similar they are, I’d say 2013-2016 was peak tbh

​@@lilbuzzy4599So true, and the new vehicles look kinda cheap, basic and strange; for example: the new lego city train look kinda ugly, if you think about the 2018 Yellow and grey regional train and to the blue cargo trai from some years ago they looked amazing, i think the whole lego city theme got into a little downfall since 2020-2021, i hope new sets in some years will be good as the old style lego city sets

The Lego City sets from the late 2000s were the best. Modern Lego City sets honestly feel lackluster to me now with the exception of the train sets.

In the summer of 2015, I got the lego city farm set from a friend for free when his mom was going to sell all his lego, and he told her to just give it all to me instead. I got the farm set from that friend, the 2007 fire station, the main 2005 fire truck, and limited edition combined the harvester set plus a few other sets all free, and they were all 99% complete with instructions. The 2008 police HQ set was my dream set as a kid it took me 13 years to get it, but I got it in June of 2020, complete off Facebook marketplace for $120 and now the person I bought it from and I are friends in real life.

Yes, there were some pretty cool lego city sets that I lost, I remember even now when my dad wanted to buy me the station you mentioned and the other one from 2014 and he wanted to buy it for me, fund born in 2007, I caught some good years at lego city, some of them I caught fins, not especially the passenger train from 2010 that my dad also wanted to take ahh what times nostalgia for our past that has fallen and modern times have come where lego City has broken down less 2024 was the best year ahh I can't wait to buy one of these sets on bricklink or brickowl

I think the problem is Lego was messing around and I forgot the rivals to lego have been marking in America Army and Legos had not and Legos minecraft should of been out sooner than it came too late but that is my theory 😮 but I did also buy lego city set

The first Lego Ser I ever got was a Lego Tow truck, from the same line that the garage came from. I remember looking at the back of the instructions booklet that had a picture of all the sets of that line I remember staring at the image of the garage and imagining how everything worked. I remember how badly I wanted that set. I wanted it even more than the police station.(partly because my parents got me the Mobile command unit that released in 2012 I believe. God I love that set, I will literally fight and die for it).
