I bought Coach & took it back bcuz longevity was too short on my skin. I got LB eau intense recenty. I like it but I'm waiting for summer to wear it. I'm adding Stronger With You in a couple of weeks. I think I'm gonna purchase Prada Luna Rossa next. Great job E.... totally agree with the Gucci Guilty Absolute. Man, that was a left field release...in a good way. lol Even though I own a handful of Prada releases, the house was very a go to house for me. I own Prada lhomme and do enjoy it but never really could wrap my head around the excitement. It was just alright for me. Maybe I need to give intense a ride on my skin to see what's up. Wow, what a list, E! I agree that for the money, Banana Republic killed it with the Icon Collection. I only bought Vintage Green but like the line. I only recently smelled Gucci Guilty Absolute but agree that it was a surprise, a major departure from the rest of the homogenous men’s Guilty line. Best Sauvage substitute in my book that came out this year was Armaf Ventana! Not a big Prada fan but L'Homme Intense is good. I prefer The Valentino Absolute as my #1! Great Video BTW!

Hey E I'm not sure if it was released this year but it is one I discovered this year Dior eau Sauvage Perfum the juicy is an awesome green it smells amazing for only 3 notes and it lasts up to 24hrs on me..... Great video keep up the good work

Interesting picks, E! Not to troll or discredit what u said, but I think that 2017 has been one of the worst years in men's fragrance releases. Besides Prada L'homme Intense, GGA, & Cafe Tuberosa, a lot of the designer fragrances that I have smelled were just forgettable to me. A lot of the fragrances that I do like from 2017 I can't see myself wearing 5-10 years from now. U have me intrigued on sampling Uomo Absolute Noir. Keep the videos coming, E!

Zara Y is amazing, I bought two bottles, 12.5 dls each 🤣✌ in Zara Mexico, I haven't tried La Nuit de L' homme original version but I can assure that Y is pretty close to the current version of La Nuit, I wanna Layton but I have never smelled, thanks for your advices my friend regards.

If it may help you, I own Zara Y and the current La Nuit. I would say that YSL is a better scent, the cardamom is there and thought it has way more lavande than the vintage version, it is still really good. Zara Y, on the other hand, is a really good alternative, but the cardamom is not there, it has a really close vibe and it is worth it for the price, but if you have the money I would suggest you going for la nuit.

That line from Banana Republic is no joke. 78 Vintage Green is a supreme casual scent, in my opinion. Plays with scents like Mugler Cologne and Ferrari Bright Neroli, but I think it's a bit better for me.

Nice to see you back! Interesting that you like "Stronger With You" as it's one of the lowest rating Armani offerings on Fragrantica. I really like Armani Code Profumo but how many vanilla or tonka based dry downs can a guy have in his collection for goodness sakes! I'm a big fan of a strong fragrance and I'm so disappointed with my current bottle of Obsession's performance that I wouldn't even consider buying a fresh version. Polo Red Extreme sounds like something I would like....once the low Fragrantica ratings catch up with the house and bottles somehow start winding up at Fragrancenet! I'm surprised that not one Zara fragrance made the group considering how many bottles you purchased and how many they've released. I'd be interested to hear your opinion of the new Night IV Pour Homme edp which apparently replaced Vibrant Leather as the Aventus clone and the new updated Gourmand Leather in EdP strength (Ultra Male clone). Perhaps we can start an email campaign to get IFRA to apply a one year ban on vanilla oil in men's fragances just for the 2018 fragrance year!

Why not also clone the JPG line since some say Zara fragrances are made by Puig and Puig owns the rights (and the formulas) to JPG now. Puig has eliminated most of the flankers anyway.

Two things.... YESSSSS!!!! SAUVAGEEE EDP!!! (although when I read it contains vanilla, I just nodded and frowned... I think it should have been an Oud scent with the original Sauvage blend and without vanilla). My favarite release of 2017 was Gucci Guilty Absolute, though I must say I really did not try many releases of that year, including most of the ones you mentioned on your list, so it wouldn't be proper to actually say GGA is my favorite if I have not tried the others as well. I have to say E, out of so many reviewers or Fragrance channels, I always come back to yours and feel it has to be in the top three on my list, and let me tell ya, I do watch a whole lot of channels! I don't know why, or what it is about it... but it reminds me of like a less feminine version of black orchid. like if someone made a male version. I prefer DHP and uomo intense over this, but i respect it.. Def is unique and very high quality. Im liking your likes to dislikes ratio as well.. Sometimes thats hard to achieve in this community.. There is a similarity in style. I actually like the way L'homme Intense smells 2. It has issues but I'm a fan of the smell regardless. I think that that's an interesting comparison tho that I wouldn't have thought of...Nice!.

E - great list. I'm glad you listed Prada L'Homme Intense as #1 - it is a GREAT scent. I've worn it in the cooler weather (this is definitely not a warm weather scent), and it's just a sexy, darker scent and got me compliments as well. I have sampled Valentino Noir Absolu and it doesn't work for me....and come to think of it, DHP (which I own) just wasn't for me either. I also own a bottle of Banana Republic Vintage Green, and it's a nice scent and extremely affordable. I need to try Pure White.

I agree. I love iris based fragrances. I like/love Dior Homme, DHI, Valentino Uomo, Prada L'Homme, Prada L'Homme Intense and even Zara 9.0. And Valentino Uomo Intense is my favorite fragrance of all time. But DHP and Valentino Uomo Noir Absolu are just bad fragrances to me. I can't understand the praise DHP gets in the FragCom. To me it's just a bad blended dark mess. Daver seems to be the only one judging the actual smell of the fragrance and not just the idea of a darker, more masculine version of DHI that the people seem to have.

I think you are right Marcus. People make such a big deal about DHP being the 'masculine intense version of DH and more than DHI, etc.' but honestly - let your nose tell you. I'm not saying DHP is bad...it's just not for me....and I just let my nose tell me whether I like it or not. I actually went to Nordstroms with the intent of buying Noir Absolu and was smart enough to have them make me a sample to WEAR first...because when I tried the Noir Absolu tester....I was like....this is not a smooth fragrance like Valentino Uomo/Intense...it's pretty strong...dark...and not that pleasing to my nose. Having said all of this...man I do love Prada L'Homme Intense. I remember buying it in the summer, sniffing it (not wearing it) and telling myself - 'great fragrance, but shelve it until October and then wear it when it's cooler outside. I'm glad I did.

I definitely agree on Prada L'Homme Intense. For me, too, the best release of 2017. The only 'downside': even if it is considered to be a 'dark freshie' it has a quite thick, almost 'smokey' scent quality to me. That makes it no so versatile as the original. However, I prefer it over the already amazing original. I will definitely add it to my collection if I find a good deal.
