great list guys for me my top ten in no particular order will be Azzaro Pour Homme, Halston z14, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Givenchy Gentlemen, Derrick Orlane, Lagerfeld Classic, Polo Ralph Lauren, Van Cleef & Arpels, Equipage Hermes and Caron Yatagan those will be my choices for the 70s anyway amazing job guys you to are the main fragrance guys on youtube in my opinion, old knowledge beats young knowlege!!!!!

Hi Dan, after I left school in 1969 (I’m an oldun) after progressing from the likes of Brut, Old Spice and West i used to wear Gentleman, Aramis, Eau Sauvage, Paco Rabanne and Pierre Cardin. in the late 70's, Givenchy Gentleman was my signature fragrance (actually it was the only one I had). Last year I purchased the new version, which is very similar to the memory I have of the 1974 version

Wonderful review from Mr Smelly1977.....And scent land..........Why doesn't anybody talk about 2007 Tom Ford Moss Breches private blend.its such a wonderful scent...Its so so different then a lot of the others....I never here about it ever,....I love all the statues you have around the house...There awesome....I always envisioned having Greek and roman statues around my house...I love them a lot i also love Egyptian ones to...Jaws was such a great movie....I always loved the ending when the boat sank and he thought his buddy was dead but wasn't and after they defeat Jaws i always always always waited tell them two who were swimming to shore on a piece of wood i always always waited tell they got to shore then i would stop watching the movie...I think 70s i think Beegees....Disco John Travolta...You no what....I miss Splash bottles....Now days people blast that stuff on and ruin the whole reason for wearing fragrance...I put enuff fragrance on so they get a whiff of me instead of a blast....Its suppose to be special not overwhelming! What ever happened to being romantic and discrete? People wear it out bye blasting it on and going thru shit loads of bottles...One bottle last me forever....Now days not so much............Aftershave bottles have a lower concentration then the EDT....Just keep doing the next decade.....Love the review...

#1: RL Polo Green - American Republicanism in a bottle. The smell of a man just as Coco Chanel called her No. 5 "the scent of a woman". #2: Hermes Equipage- I love cinnamon fragrances and this one has just a teeny weeny bit of old school animalic. #3: Azzaro Pour Homme- love barbershop fougeres. #3: Paul Sebastian Fine Cologne - Released in 1979 by two guys from New Jersey, and is the best example of classic Old Spice made into a fuller, stronger, richer, more fleshed-out proper fine fragrance instead of a thin toiletry product. The creators must have intended to make a fuller Old Spice from the start. It's that close. Still available today and I have it. #4: British Sterling - Quality affordable aftershave/cologne with a nice scent profile between Old Spice and a Bay Rum. I have that too.
