It sadly *does* drop off late game, and it is admittedly a pain to get, but in BL3 Pa's Rifle holds a special place in my heart. It's just a nice little rifle.

The machine, god what a throwback, I get that gun so many times when I played jack a while back but it's so good I hope gearbox didn't forget about pre sequel because some of the guns in the pre sequel were just chefs kiss, Perfecto, the machine is one of them

hail, ice scream, boomacorn, heartbreaker (yeah it's kinda obtainable), fridgia, machine and any hyperion glitched laser (heartful splodger for example) practically replace anything you could possibly get, even legendaries. amazing guns with unique playstyle forcing you to accept their conditions and repaying you with ultimate fun.

Vibra-Pulse, Ol' Rosie and T4s-R from BLTPS are also worth mentioning. Some of the best in class weapons in the game. Hydra from BL2 I believe has higher damage per shot potential than Orphan Maker, only problem is hitting all the pellets due to the very wide spread. But still it's a really good gun. I would actually rate the BL2/TPS version of the Hail higher than the BL3 version, because of the grenade splash, splitting projectile, and the fact that it doesn't spawn as non elemental.

Fun fact about the pimpernel, projectile speed affects the distance from the projectile location and the top of the flowering. So low projectile speed is ideal imo

That also applies to zer0's Vel0city and Accelerate on Maya. If you want the Pimpernel to be optimal, NEVER pick those skills. Also a lesser known fact, if you're pimperhab'ing with Sal, the rocket launcher's velocity effects the child projectiles of the Pimpernel! Not many people note that one, but I assure you, you want a SLOW ROCKET torgue launcher for pimperhab'ing.

it's not the strongest weapon and it usually falls off quickly but for a fun gun to use in normal mode and one of my favorite weapons in bl2, something always felt special about the Heart Breaker

The Heartbreaker is really good on Krieg, Maya and Gaige. Shame the commander lillith DLC kind of broke the endgame of BL2 harder than Vorac...

Gotta have an honorable mention for the non-unique Q System from BL3! It may not be good at endgame but it's remarkably overpowered during leveling and getting even a white-grade one during Arms Race drastically improves your odds. It's the random drop so cool they gave it a legendary version as an homage: the O.P.Q. System from the Cartels event.

Personally, I would've swapped out the Twister for the Heartbreaker (doo doo, doo, doo doo), solely because the Heartbreaker is comically easier to obtain over the Twister. Also, I'm kinda surprised Ajax's Spear didn't at least get a honorable mention.

i just did a tvhm playthrough on borderlands 3 and made a point to use all of the red text items you get for quest rewards. some of them are really, really good.

the fingerbiter obtained from the quest on "the blood path" by killing holder is a good amazeing shotgun where each pallet can bounce of surfaces (meaning anything that ISNT a crit) 4 times and it being a jacobs gun where crits ricochet, it gets nutty quickly, and its only a blue, not even a purple.

Boomacorn in TPS is such a dumb weapon too, you get one at a decent level early and it'll carry you through like 80% of the campaign singlehandedly, pretty much the only draw back is that a handful of late game bosses are airborne and it sucks against airborne targets.

I like the lifesteal weapons from 3 with the red card and moze's bloodletter. Kaleidoscope is pretty cool too. Melt facer. The stuff that can't get anointed is fun to try and buff up as well

My all time favorite drop in BL1 was the purple rarity “pearl matadore” shotgun. It was an atlas shotgun that only had 2 shots, but hot DAMN did those shots destroy anything in my path with mordecai. Even 13 years later i still remember that weapon.

Good list K6. You say weapon in the title and not gun, so I would petition the contraband sky rocket be placed somewhere in the 10-6 range or at minimum an HM. You get it for free at the beginning of the game and with the exception of a couple of fire based bosses (Flynt, Warrior, phase 1 Bloodwing) it can carry you through the first 2 playthroughs and still be quite effective in UVHM.

I have a soft spot for Ol' Painful simply because the thing is thoroughly awesome. I mean, it's a Gatling Laser. How can it not be fun? I miss the Fibber though. I have so many fond memories of the good ol' floor shotgun.

The wedding invitation was the greatest gun ever made before the multiple projectiles nerf. On flak it broke the game. I was ignoring immunity phases, and just deleting the entire screen with a single shot. When it was nerfed I stopped playing flak entirely

Ok, so this one is really specific, but it straight up carried a large part of one of my runs, so I think it deserves a little love. The E-Gun from The Pre Sequel, but specifically with Nisha. Her Showdown action skill completely negates the wild handling and turns it into a lock on beam that can do fire damage even in a vacuum. It can't ignite in a vacuum, but it CAN do fire damage. Decent range for a beam weapon, respectable damage and ammo capacity, and Nisha's action skill work together to make this one really stand out for me. I didn't stop carrying it until ultimate vault hunter mode. At that point the gun struggles to keep up unless you have skills and gear that really take advantage of it.

Just a note for a grog nozzle, while no long legitimately obtainable as a regular weapon, people do have them and some are willing the dupe them so you arent obligated to get to the point of the quest

I understand why people hate it, but in BL2 the Unforgiven is one of my favorite weapons, it makes me feel like TF2 Spy. I only use it on human targets, spiderants, and non-reinforced loaders

the defiler, skull masher and hellfire are worthy of honorable mentions at the very least. ( From borderlands 1 and if you know i think you know..) Mind you there are guns that are simply better in every regard in the later games but not many that are on that same tier of how good they are in their own game but if i am gonna mention them i need to mention dahl mashers and the company class mods from general knox to get the other really good stuff from bl1 out of the way.

double anarchy is absolutely op, My max lvl lilith still has their lvl 32 double anarchy that dropped in playthrough one and its still the main weapon I use. 30+ levels under and I can still boss with it. Have yet to get another for some reason

I had disregarded the Boomacorn on my first playthrough with Nisha because it doesn't work so great with her action skill. When I finally figured out to just stop doing that and use it when her skill is on cool down, it immediately changed the game for me. Showdown would end, and the Boomacorn would be a go to weapon.

Yeah, I mean there are some that can be used: Crit, Hail, Dakota, x25 Stagecoach, Ashen Beast, Pa's Rifle, Hangin Chadd, Cold Shoulder, Icebreaker, Kalediscope, Firecracker and more, but a lot of them can't get anointments which sucks.

I still remember when I first played FL4K using (i believe) a DPUH Bologna Poney, combined with Gorillas in the Mist, Megavore and Leave no Trace, before any DLCs dropped. It was SO fun evaporating enemies in the blink of an eye by unloading hundreds of sticky pellets and then swapping to an Unforgiven.

So would you consider the "chopper" from BL1 not good enough for this list or too rare? I think it's easy to navigate the unloading the whole clip part with by reloading to stop it and it out damages a double anarchy, plus if you are roland it's GG once you have it.

I still miss the dahl fully auto shotgun from borderlands one . with class mods its aim was in the 90s and fire rate was extreme in pvp fun it out performs snipers in range dps and fire rate no legendary weapon even came close .. been looking for a shotgun in every game since and never found one i just want a shot gun with range is that so hard !!!

I can't remember the name of the sniper rifle but it was the talking one it has a unique affect where you can almost infinitely stack crit damage as long as you're getting consecutive critical hits

It's sad to see the Nerfpocalypse from borderlands 3, in the older borderlands except for certain time the gun still the same and give them some reputation and identity, in borderlands 3 it's no more a gun with identity but...a gun

They nerfed a lot in the first few months, but so did BL2. People forget how messy it was at launch. It's about making the game as balanced as possible. BL3 ultimately got WAY more Buffs than Nerfs thankfully.
