I just bought Sedley and got 3 samples (Layton, Percival, Greenly) Sedley smells great, it first smells like a sweet, citusy soda, but as time went it smelled more floral and soapy -> fresh laundry? Greenly smells less citrusy and sweet than sedley but remind more like a fresh orange garden, mowed grass and pine trees. Percival personally wasn't for me, but it smells like you are freshly out of a shower (shaving-gel and shower-gel) Layton smells very sweet apple pie with vanilla cream, but I can also smell a really subtle hint of fresh citrus. As time goes on the citrusy smell goes away and your left with a sweeter and spicier scent (which I absolutely love and addicted to) Conclusion: If you are looking for a summer fragrance and want more versatility I personally recommend you Sedley, if you want to be unique go for the Greenley. You can't really go wrong with either fragrances though, they smell great. If you are looking for a winter/ fall fragrance Layton. (I would also recommend Althair, it smells much sweeter and spicier but less versatile) This is strictly my opinion for take it for a grain of salt

I definitely agree on the sedley part, it smells like sprite to me at first but in a very pleasant way with the citrus and freshness. I also really like the woody nature of greenly which makes it my favorite. I have Layton coming in tomorrow so I’m exited to get it

I love PDM but mostly the Cold weather scents. Imo the freshies are mid and pretty much ok, like Percival but i wouldnt pay $ 250 for a scent that is a better version of A&F fierce. Haltane > Oajan > Herod and Althair.

Habdan and Nisean are sleeper (builds) from PDM. Seriously, PDM has an incredible range of fragrances that are masterpieces. Even their women's fragrance line is 🔥🔥🔥 Ironically, I tried Perseus recently at a Sak's Fifth Ave and was very disappointed by what I smelled. I want to test out again next time on skin and for an extended period, for me, it's hard to believe that Perseus - having such a beautiful bottle and name - would be such a 'hands down-eyes-closed' pass for me.

Althair is unreal. Herod is my favorite fragrance of all time but he’s right when he says this is dangerously close. Althair had the same effect on me that Herod did the first time I smelled them. Knew I wasn’t walking out of the store without them

@joaopaulostasiu1091 As far as scent profile Herod is easily the better one. Only downside to Herod is the performance. Personally, that isn't a big deal to me since Herod is meant to be worn in an evening situation so you don't need 10+ hrs of performance. Now, If performance is very important to you then go with Haltane which smells great and has a mass appeal along with beast mode performance.

I've got both, in my experience Percival is more beast mode than Sedley, but Sedley does perform well and holds on a really long time for a freshie.

Perseus is more earthy than eau givree in the dry down which is bc of the vetiver in it. It reminds me of a creamcsicle than eau givree being more acidic and fresh(aquatic). Also I have heard and read that perseus last very long compared to eau givree (bc of the ambroxin), but on my skin perseus does last a few hrs longer and eau givree. But tbh most fragances don't last past 7-8hrs on my skin, even though its more on the oily side. So with eau givree I get about 1-2 hrs top and persues is about 3-4 hrs. (Just for further example with my skin chemistry with fragrance, I own a bottle of Carlisle (81%vol) and that doesn't seem to last past 4-5hrs(6-8 sprays). Now if I do 8-10 sprays and go into a close-off space like in a car then its beast mode to the people inside the car but even after a few hours it will start to die off into a skin scent. I would spray during the morning before school (8am) and friends from 5th would asked If I was wearing anything when wearing Carlisle on that day, so its not my nose being blind.) TLDR: So no, perseus is not same nor similar at all with eau givree. On paper yes because on fragrantica, the main accords are literly the same but the main difference with eau grivree having a mineral nuance. But then again I dont think perseus nor eau givree are worth gettting at retail price especially peruses.

I got PDM Carlisle from Jomashop and the projection and performance is super bad. When I ask my girlfriend, she can barely smell on my skin (I did 5 sprays on my neck). Is it because Jomashoip sells fake ones or just on my skin? really disappointed and confused. I thought Carlisle is the beast mode fragrance. Any idea?

i didn't like Layton at all until i smelled it on my skin. it's funny how much a scent can change when it hits your skin vs a piece of paper. Layton smells amazing on me. Haltane does too, but the performance is too long for me. it really binds to my skin and lasts 30+ hrs on me! i'll never buy another scent before trying samples first

I appreciate this list. Some constructive criticism: have you considered taking the approach that someone watching this video may be considering getting into PDM’s fragrances? I think this approach should be great to take. For example, perhaps talk more about what age ranges each of these fragrances give off. Talk more about the vibes, what it smells like, how much it changes from opening to dry down. I’m not asking for a full review. But if someone who would like to get into this brand fragrances, this video didn’t do much for me.

Greenley is hands down the best summer scent from PDM IMO. It’s become my all time fave. I’m still saving up for Perseus since it’s supposed to be amazing for hot days. But not sure if it can replace Greenley as my fave.

Glad Perseus isn't on the list. To me Perseus is just a great example why you should always try out a new fragrance before you buy it. When I tested it, I absolutely loved it for the first 30 minutes to an hour, even got close to buying a bottle right away, but after that first 60 minute, it was pure disappointment and i was glad i did not waste my money on it.
