"Step by Step" bored me a lot. Now, if you are in for a really manipulative, possessive, somewhat narcissistic jealous male, try Lin Gengxin's character in 2024 "The Tale of Rose" about the life and sentimental evolution of Rosie, played by Liu Yifei ! LGX played the role of "Fang Xiewen", the husband of "Huang Yimei", remarkably well! But it is not an ordinary romance, and I guarantee you won't love that Fang character, even if you might understand his cold logic and understand how he could hurt his beloved wife without ever lifting a finger against her.

Add 2024 micro-short "Embrace In the Dark Night" with sizzling hot Jesse Ren as freelance security agent "Xu Zheqing" and not that submissive "Wen Xi" played by Gao Renfang. This one just finished airing and is fast becoming a cult item, despite its obvious flaws.

I have one, "Sweet First Love", he was so toxic, he made her believe she is not worthy of anything, she had no self confidence and she was like the stupidest person in school. Later, when she separated with him, she pursued he career as an cardiologist and even developing cure for a rare heart diseases. 😅

GenZ (the 2023 c-drama about TCM starring Wu Gang, Luo Yizhou, and Zhao Lusi) does not fall, at all, in the category defined in title of this video. But yes, you can watch it on KZbin, Youku, or 😘...kh ; it is not available any longer on Netflix, Amazon, and was not included on Viki, unfortunately.

Well intended Love part 1 too toxic, but there is another season from 3 years later which is actually quite fun and makes much more sense! Maid’s Revenge ok. BtW, why is the girl always an 18-YEAR OLD whatever, never 19 or 20? Too old? To make it clear the actress may look 12, but is actually , well, an adult. But not like, old, as like, 25 or 26…..

Right? It’s like they have a strict “18 and under” rule for casting! I guess they think 19 is just too wild for drama. Maybe we need a show called “The 19-Year-Old Dilemma” to change things up!
