Wish we had more time in Guilin/Yangshuo. But we did do many things, the best, I thought, was the Longji Rice Terraces.

Thanks for the video. :-) Can you please tell me if we need to stay only in Yangshuo or there is things to do also in Guilin? I have only 3 nights and I don't know if all your very beautiful places are located in the same area of Yangshuo or do I have to spend a night in Guilin? Many thanks for any advice you can provide

If the vacation is short, there is no need to stay in Guilin at all. Yangshuo is 50 kilometers away from Guilin urban area. You can land at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport by plane. You can take a coach or high-speed rail to reach the destination directly. The high-speed rail station is 20 kilometers away from Yangshuo County. As soon as you go out, it is the scenic area. When you arrive at the county, check in at the hotel first. You can rent an electric bike and have a look around. The tourism industry in Yangshuo is very developed. Wish you a pleasant journey!

In Guilin we stayed on top of a mountain overlooking the Longji Rice Terraces, which was my number 1 thing to see in the area. Take the lift from the bottom to the top. A very spectacular site. West Street is just wild, I can't imagine it during the tourist season. You might want to stay one night in Guilin and two in Yangshuo. Good luck.

@@fischman26-China I'm from Guilin. My home is 50 kilometers away from Yangshuo. I often drive to Yangshuo to have fish cooked in beer at night. Maybe because I grew up here, we prefer to go fishing in places where no one else goes or have a picnic on the pebble-strewn shallows instead of tourist attractions. There is also a large area of terraced fields next to my home.
