12:30 I actually remember the guy in the middle from a Pawn Stars episode. He sold a MTG starter pack (I think, no idea) to Chum for 25K (he bought it for 30k) with the stipulation that when Chum opened the deck and found a (can't remember the card name) they'd split the winnings. Chum didn't pull that specific card but another rarity worth $150K and that guy walked away depressed AF. Down 5K when he could have been up 120K.

I get physically sick thinking about selling my collections of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh when I got into my late teens. I had an amazing collection of both, first editions, promotional cards. Had an almost an entire 1ed Pokemon base set. Many 1ed holos in both games. 2 mechanical chasers and 3 morphing jar tournament cards. Fucking tens of thousands of dollars in cards. All gone.

i had over 100,000 magic the gathring cards ,mostly 8th edition to new phyrexia, but a fair amount of older stuff as well some alpha and beta commons and lands for example my collection included a good number of cards worth £50-200 total value was around £10,000-£20,000 any way they went missing a few years back obviously someone stole them could have been a friend bu i think i was much more likley a family member mot likely my mother as she had been telling me o organise and sell them as i had not been using them for a while and they were just siting there and also i "needed to grow up and be a man stop playing with cards and Warhammer miniatures" and that they dissapeared while i was on holiday and she had rearanged everything in my room while i was away also i was pretty behind on the rent to her i cant prove it though she claims she has no idea what happened to them and was annoyed with me getting more saying i was regressing to being childish. still cant prove it though who knows maybe a burgular came in and took them and nothing else or something or it was one of my siblings or a "friend"

The worst part about watching these is how many of these cards I used to have as a kid. Raviel, Hamon, Black Cyber Dragon (not sure if rare, but all my friends wanted to trade it off of me) and blue eyes, although it looked much different than in this video. And as for Pokemon, I know I had a shining Magikarp and Shining Steelix. All of them I most have lost or gotten stolen somewhere as a child over time. But as children, we never even conceived the thought of individual cards as having a monetary value.
