Astral Chain is amazing. I'm praying Switch 2 gets an enhanced 60 fps port or remaster, the game deserves more success! Also, Octopath Traveler 2 is my favorite JRPG of the last generation. It's so damn good!

As back for Nintendo consoles a top ten best RPG list hardly could be done for Wii or Wii U. Today a top ten list hardly can be done due to the amount of so many fantastic RPGs for 3DS and Switch, so many that I can't keep up with playing all these. I really love this direction. And it's great to see that you could make a top ten list of all the RPGs.

@@DiogoJ1 Because developer was restructurizated in 2018 (closed in 2018, rest of developers moved to Team Sonic and RGG Studio), and key people from former Overworks / WoW Entertainment (AM1&AM7) left Sega in 2017 (Ryutaro Nonaka, A. Nishini, Shuntaro Tanaka etc.) and Rieko Kodama died in 2022. Only Tetsuya Otsubo (Skies of Arcadia, Sakura Wars, Hatsune Miku) left. Sega did not even mentioned about 15th Anniversary of Valkyria Chronicles, but Famitsu yes. Instead of that they celebrated 10th Anniversary of mobile game - Puyo Puyo Quest. Even mainline Hatsune Miku is dead, because of mobile game. This says everything. Now Valkyria Chronicles fate (and other Sega classic RPG series) depends on Team Sonic, but they like always milking only Sonic.

Not a new system, but Tales of Berseria is also on the PS3 in the West, I believe. I'm pretty sure I've seen used NTSC versions in game stores around here.

So what are your thoughts on Japanese dubs as a whole? I always use it where possible as I find it the most authentic to the creators vision. I'm not saying there aren't good English dubs, it's just a preference.

Its honnestly a must if you can understand a conversation or the flow. Dubs really step on it in Neptunia games for exemple, making cringy one liner or meta comment in the subs meanwhile they were having a normal conversation in japanese.

Nice video. Got to play a few of them like granblue which I have been dying to play. Lol. I will say though that the first Xenoblade is the best in my opinion. Xenoblade 3 has the best battle system though. Like you said very addictive. Story in 3 wasn’t great to me. The dlc story in 3 was so awesome though. Better then the entire main game of part 3 in my opinion.

I agree. Besides story, fire engage’s gameplay and everything else is way better then 3 houses. I hated the story in 3 houses. Gameplay with the garrison stuff sucked. Gameplay for the most part in 3 houses sucked in general. Glad they got rid of it in engage.

Nice video great games, how so ever SMT5 might be challenging but you do get the means to defeat any foe. Octopath Traveler grindy yea every jrpg is how so ever when you grind your 1st 4 characters to level 50-55 after you beat the story with all four switch out 1 character for a next & fight a tough battle & tht character level sky rockets plus you get access... with +600 etc HP so you don't have to grind as much again.

Eiyuden Chronicles was devastated by 505s horrible localisation, the backers did not obtained all the promised goodies, and what we got were not timed either, first adopters had to play the game bugged, impossible to get the true ending since a recruitable character had an incorrect coded flag, really bad FPS and loading times. Overall, IF the game had worked, it was a 10/10 for me. But considering everything, even the lame and lazy lcalization, I say it goes as low as a 3/10 due bad customer experience, bad expectations, bad execution and bad localisation.
