Actually Amanda’s wrap was a nod to the Palestinians. The dress was very pretty and the wrap signified support for the Palestinians in Gaza. Stay informed.

I knew what it was but I don’t think the creator was wrong in saying the wrap looks like an after thought. I know she was intentional in wearing it and I support the message but design wise it doesn’t connect to anything in the main dress. It doesn’t add to the silhouette or match any colors in the dress itself. Even as an element for contrast I don’t think it works. Contrasting a crisp white and black scarf black to a dress that is a muddy tie dye fusion of brown, red, yellow, and green doesn’t do anything for the look. If anything it confuses the eye on what to look at. Maybe it would help if the dress itself had some kind of structure that worked to draw attention to certain parts of her body but it doesn’t. Amanda isn’t really known as a fashionista so I’m not really surprised. She has some great politics though so there’s always that.
