My Honorable Mention: Walter C. Dornez, "Hellsing Ultimate" Ex-Vampire Hunter and Butler to the Hellsing Organization. He answers the door, he cleans up the estate, and he takes out the trash. And he also kills self-entitled little twats. He wanted nothing more than one more fight with the ultimate vampire, Alucard, but he was past his prime. So he made a deal with Millennium to be infused with vampire DNA to restore his youth and his full power. At the penultimate episode, Walter betrays Hellsing and has his fight with Alucard at Restrain Level 0, but due to the procedure, his age regression comes too fast and he is unable to finish off Alucard.

I will say this about so called betrayals. Any so called betrayal where the person who is apparently betraying joined that group on purpose for the sake of another organisation or persons interest etc... and joins as a mole for someone else such as with Kanjuro in One Piece. I never consider that a betrayal because he did not become a scabbard out of loyalty to Oden or anything like that. His sole purpose for joining them was to feed information to Orochi, Higurashi and whatever the old dude was called. He specifically joined as a mole not as a loyalist who then switched and decided to betray his fellow people. The Kurozumi were total scum in One Piece but this is no betrayal if his sole purpose for joining was being a mole to feed information to the enemy of the guy he started working for

Guy cheats on his girlfriend with her friend, nocks up said friend, then dumps said friend by going back to his first girlfriend right in front of her. Guy was considered one of anime's worst scumbags for a while because of it too.

That voice acting for Assassination Classroom, dear god it was awful. I know the west doesn't exactly have A-list actors willing to voice foreign cartoons, but good lord was that pain for the ears. Reiner and Bertholdt revealing their identities as titans is the most hilarious reveal with how blunt and out of place it was. Annie was a surprise that was actually surprising, but Bert and Ernie? It felt like a gag until it actually happened, and it became funny as a result. Femto is iconic. That is THE anime betrayal.

Kaede Kayano I would disagree with. The whole class and world were trying to kill Koro, and even after this plot point many in the class were still for it. She wasn't even the first student to go outside the class to achieve it. The only difference for her was she has a real motivation outside of the world not blowing up.
