The Gateshead Stadium looks so alien for UK standards with that running track in it. Seems like more of an Italian arena. I like the look and feel of the pitch in Bath.

I've been to the Gateshead International Stadium. It certainly needs an upgrade. They make everyone sit on one side of the ground as well. I really feel for Gateshead though, given the current circumstances, say hypothetically they win the league, they still won't get promoted due to the ground.

Absolutely. It’s similar at Barnet because of low attendances but hopefully our move back to Underhill can happen.

Scunny fan - We don't have plans for a new stadium any more. The hopes of that died years ago from the failure of Swann's pie in the sky gamble and the local council.. There was a half-arsed plan under Hilton, but he never had any serious intention with his con job.

York and Gateshead are terrible places to watch footy. York is bland, boring and unimaginative. They had a great setup at Bootham Crescent, to see YCFC play at a shopping centre is a sad state of affairs. The less said about Gateshead, the better.
@TFSS
@TFSS 3 ай бұрын
Bootham Crescent seemed a classic ground, it was a shame to go up there last year and see it as a building site.
@Benwilo2
@Benwilo2 22 күн бұрын
Atmosphere at the lner is better now though. Bootham would get 2.5k attendances in the last 20 years before we moved. Lner averages are going up year on year, this year we are looking at 5k-5.5k average. New owners are looking at where they can add things round the stadium to create a less bland bowl, (better advertising boards, huge ycfc cover over the north stand seats when it's not being used, more posters and decorations in the concourses) it's still a brand new stadium and needs a few more years to get it up to scratch. Gateshead I can agree on, the absolute state of it, probably the worst in the NL, in fact definitely the worst

Or maybe call it “Top 10 Largest Tinpot Stadiums in Non-League Football”. I have been to some Non-League football stadiums.
@Benwilo2
@Benwilo2 22 күн бұрын
Yorks is hardly tin pot tho is it, it's better than half most league to and alot of league 1 stadiums. I don't think you realise how hard it is to get out of non league and back into the football league. When youve got 1 auto promotion spot and 1 play off spot plus loads of ex EFL teams fighting to get back all of them spending millions. You've then got the non league teams who want to get promoted to the EFL for the first time who are also spending millions, it's an expensive league, my team York is literally spending 5 to 6 million a season trying to get back up, they only make about 3 million a year. It's fucking expensive and hard
