My favourite moment is in Blackadder the Third, where Blackadder is trying to find out from Baldrick where Doctor Johnson's manuscript is: Baldrick: "So you're asking where the big papery thing tied up with string, belonging to the batey fellow in the black coat who just left is?" Blackadder: "Yes Baldrick, I am. And if you don't answer, then the booted bony thing with five toes on the end of my leg, will soon connect sharply with the soft dangly collection of objects in your trousers. Now for the last time Baldrick, where is Doctor Johnson's manuscript?" Baldrick: "On the fire." Blackadder: "On the what?" Baldrick: "The hot orangey thing under the stony mantelpiece."

Two of the best scenes were when Baldrick was convinced the end of the world is nigh, because he saw a horse with two heads and two bodies. When Blackadder suggested this was more likely two horses next to one another, he immediately went from being totally freaked out to "Well, I haven't thought of that. This actually makes more sense." The other was when Blackadder was getting married, but for lack of bridesmaids he made Baldrick to put on a dress, at which moment Percie entered the room and immediately fell for "her". He kissed the "bridesmaid", Blackadder told him who that is and Percie totally lost it. :D

The final scene of Blackadder goes Forth is a masterpiece, but I also love the scene where Baldrick asks the most logical question in the series that even his superiors can’t answer: “Why can’t we just stop, sir? Why can’t we just say, “No more killing; let’s all go home”? Why would it be stupid just to pack it in, sir, why?” The fact the simplest person in the show is suddenly speaking the most sense is absolutely superb scriptwriting.

Yep, the moment Blackadder says...in complete sincerity, 'Good Luck, Everyone'...when he damn well knows luck has nothing to do with it and they are all going to be dead within seconds... I think having watched that final moment really does change series 4 for me, blackadder for most of his attempts to get out of the war used Baldrick and George, and looking back seeing that in the last moment that he cared, it really shows why he didn’t use smarter men because a captain would have had at least a platoon at his command, and yet he always had the plucky George and The loyal Baldrick at his side despite them both being morons.

I can never watch the final episode of Goes Forth without crying, it's heartbreaking. In the other series, the last episode of each, & the deaths involved, are always humorous, but this particular one is full of pathos, simply because it truly happened to millions of soldiers in WWI.

Blackadder made me fall in love with my wife; she knew Atkinson and loved his work as Blackadder, being only mildly impressed with the Bean stuff.

Baldrick: No, the thing is: The way I see it, these days there’s a war on, right? and, ages ago, there wasn’t a war on, right? So, there must have been a moment when there not being a war on went away, right? and there being a war on came along. So, what I want to know is: How did we get from the one case of affairs to the other case of affairs? Blackadder: Do you mean “How did the war start?” George: The war started because of the vile Hun and his villainous empire- building. Blackadder: George, the British Empire at present covers a quarter of the globe, while the German Empire consists of a small sausage factory in Tanganiki. I hardly think that we can be entirely absolved of blame on the imperialistic front. Baldrick: I heard that it started when a bloke called Archie Duke shot an ostrich ’cause he was hungry. Blackadder: I think you mean it started when the Archduke of Austro-Hungary got shot. Baldrick: Nah, there was definitely an ostrich involved, sir. Blackadder: Well, possibly. But the real reason for the whole thing was that it was too much effort not to have a war. You see, Baldrick, in order to prevent war in Europe, two superblocs developed: us, the French and the Russians on one side, and the Germans and Austro-Hungary on the other. The idea was to have two vast opposing armies, each acting as the other’s deterrent. That way there could never be a war. Baldrick: But, this is a sort of a war, isn’t it, sir? Blackadder: Yes, that’s right. You see, there was a tiny flaw in the plan. Baldrick: What was that, sir? Blackadder: It was bollocks.

Maybe I'm just a simple guy. But hands down the funniest and most memorable scene to me is S01E04 07:49, when Edmund hits Percy with a rolled up parchment, then, when walked in on, they pretend it was all just part of the rehearsing for the play they were producing, and the whole thing transcends into this bizarre parchment-hitting dance xD Just writing this, I'm in stitches! xD
