The Game Topper is an excellent and affordable product. I bought the Watson last year and I am happy with it. I bought the extra rail which allows for one half of the Watson topper to convert to coffee table size. I have played with it on my coffee table, full size at the dining table and eventually on an old table I had in my dedicated gaming room. You can even get a carrying case for it and make it portable for those D&D sessions at a friends place. As you can tell I'm happy with my purchase. Price came in under $900.

I bought a sheet of particle board, had Home Depot cut it to a 3x5, then I laid the board on one of those cheap folding card tables, then I laid black felt over it that I got from the fabric store. Easiest table to make, cheapest table to buy, boom.
