Well, that were 2 great lists. Blokus is a remarkable mention, and it is indeed a great game. It builds slowly at first but is very sneaky in disguise. We have the normal version, as well as the 2-player version. Brass Birmingham is such a great game, however, personally I like Lancashire a bit more. Need to check out Darwin and Carnegie. Have a nice Christmas.

Thanks for the fun list! It was very very very very very entertaining. Ha! Concordia, Gaia Project, Underwater Cities, Brass (both versions) and definitely Maracaibo are amongst my favourites as well. I also really like Carnegie for it's unique design and set of mechanics, but the follow-on action mechanic is quite passive aggressive and messes with player agency which is annoying and not very thematic. I have a complicated relationship with Imperial Steam because I absolutely love it, but the runaway leader aspect can sour the experience for others, especially if you mess up your game in the first few turns! You need a skillful evaluation of the variable setup to avoid costly early errors. Not for the inexperienced OR faint of heart! Merry Christmas to you both. We cannot agree more regarding Carnegie. It is such a unique, punishing but also addictive game. We simply love it but will not approach the box unless we are in the correct mindset! Merry Christmas!

Some great game for you to try there! Maracaibo is quite distinct from other Phister designs. We are also quite intrigued to try Pirates of Maracaibo, a new standalone game. Merry Christmas!
