Great video Colin, and I agree. Susanna Clarke is a treasure and she needs to be talked about more. I also read Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, took me a whopping four months to complete it because A. it's long and B. stuff kept getting in the way. It's one of my favorites of this year though, I admire the ambition and depth of Clarke's vision and it has some of the best uses of lore I've ever seen in a book, and as a guy who admires lore, that says a lot. Some of my favorite books thus far this year are In Cold Blood, Only Killers and Thieves, My Dark Vanessa, All Things Left Wild, Wistful Ascending, The Way of Edan/The Prophet of Edan, Lonesome Dove, and Kindred. Keep up that quality content my dude!

Idk if it was just perfect timing for me this time around but I just was lost in that book. More so than my first time around. Clarke is so incredibly talented. What an amazing and diverse list! I love to see the Hobb love here, though I am sorry to say that your heart is indeed not safe in the last two books lol 🤣🥲 I definitely need to get back to some King myself, maybe I will ease back in with his new short story collection! And gosh, Spear is one of those books that I just keep putting off because I feel like the big brain energy hasn't been there this year... but it sounds so good! Oh I know my heart is not safe, I’m not a…Fool… 😁. I’m going on vacation with my family soon and I thought about bringing King’s new short story collection with me to have something not so heavy to read like an epic fantasy.
