Mina as well. I'll lose the weight where needed depending on the scenario.

Like this video hints at. My “ bug out bag” is really a small part of my total “system”. It fills in with my EDC, my get home bag. And my vehicle EDC. And my vehicle load out when I need to relocate to my big out location.

I would argue that cover or shelter is the most important, one can die in a few hours due to exposure, then I'd start with water. Just saying, as someone who has known someone who died of exposure it is critical.

I’m from the uk, north London, and I have a bag and kit ready for as much as I can be ready within the law and as much as I can store without messing up daily life. But iv got a pretty good set up and good set of skills that hopefully can keep me going for abit longer then most in times of shit 💩☠️

I would also suggest getting a headlamp and or a flashlight that is simultaneously rechargeable as well as able to run off of batteries of some kind. That way if the rechargeable battery runs out and you can't recharge it but you happen to have some spare batteries on you or your at least are able to get some spare batteries then you're not completely screwed and still able to power your things.

Why not just have more than one light so you have options.

Maybe add a power bank and cables for your phone and flashlights.

It's great to learn the other methods, but why make things harder than they need to be lol. No skill points in a survival situation. Thanks

How big of a problem if any, to boil water in the same container you cook, I hear doing that can leach the taste of the food you prepare into the water you drink, making the water taste unpleasant, when you just want clean fresh water or tea but it tastes like beef stew...does anyone have have any experience of this happening and how much of a bummer it really is?

Anyone remember the toilet paper? I rarely hear it mentioned by survival “experts”.
