In ygo, the term "Absorption" is a fan made description for cards that have effects which equip monsters your opponent controls to a card you control, therefore bypassing destruction and is an incredibly effective means for taking out strong monsters. Also he did mention the cyber dragon nova option and calls it's requirement "restrictive" which isn't true at all. Yes, not everyone plays machine decks, but bringing out nova to then bring out infinity isn't hard at all. I think the guy's comment was just wrong.

I didn't see this video til now but I feel that Number C9: Chaos Dyson Sphere should be mentioned, it can be summoned pretty easily using Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid which is a generic rank 4 and it has 3600 ATK and can absorb any monster that it battles and then once per turn inflicts burn damage of 300x the material so it will start with 3 so it would start at 900 burn damage and go up from there plus you can use something like ring of magnetism/raregold armor and final attack orders to make all your opponents monsters get forced to be absorbed since it's not a once per turn effect plus you could use a card to increase the number of attacks to make it absorb more on your turn

I run 1 vampire vamp in my vampire deck...exclusively for dealing with boss monsters and it can be cheesed out onto the field for free with vampire sorcerer in the graveyard.

Vampire Vamp can be easily summoned by banishing Vampire sorcerer from your graveyard. You also can special summon camp with Shadow vampire and use the extra normal summon with their new continuous spell card (I forgot the name) Also with grand Jupiter, you can easily use it with Danger or Burning Abyss because they will get their effects regardless if Jupiter is negated. It has some niche applications but overall the best way is to special summon it via Saryuja.

I Consider Number 77: The Seven Sins an absorption monster even though the absorption sort of happens after he has dealt his effect. He is able to detach 2 to banish all special summoned monsters your opponent controls and attach one of the monsters banished by his effect as material. Seven sins can be dropped with 4 materials by using ravenous tarantula or any dark rank 8-10 and pain gainer as rank climb fodder so, at most without extra support he can pull off his effect 3 times and has protection to destruction by detaching a material instead of dying lead yoke style. The main downside is he is only really able to be summoned in decks that can produce dark rank 8-10 monsters and if he is summoned using his built in rank climbing he has to wait until next turn in order to deliver his effect. It's not all bad because he's 4k attack and can tank 2 hits and still be able to use his effect but he is very prone to non destruction removal. He used to be great in trains when you could summon Dora and later follow up with Seven Sins so Dora could make Seven Sins invincible long enough to wipe the board and deal serious damage but in link format that just doesn't seem likely anymore.

Silent honor dark has a much more reliant effect than silent honor ark, where it does not have to use xyz material to absorb special summoned monsters, also if your opponent uses solemn strike's it's effect or destroys it by a card effect while it has xyz material when it hits the gy and honor ark is in the gy at the time, it special summons itself back onto the field, is capable of using it's effect again, and you gain lp equal to it's original attack of 2800. the downsides is that it would have to be run in a rank-up deck with honor ark. however, it can also be used as material to create an even more powerful monster, cxyz barian hope, which if honor ark or dark is in the grave, it will gain their effects of absorption, and even though if it use's honor ark, if it has enough material, you can also prevent it from being destroyed.

So, I am insanely late on this, but I actually used to play Vampire Vamp in a Harpie deck of all things during the Qil/Pre-Kozmo era on Dueling Network back when it was a thing. Harpies can easily get her out off of Hysteric Party, Summoner Monk could get Sorcerer out, and putting her to the field was easy. Likewise, Shaddolls were completely broken by Dark Simorgh and her, which gave a very strong option against them, and many decks I found struggled to deal with Control Harpie that could switch into her or Big-Eye on a moment's notice to flip the board. Combined with Phalanx Pike, it actually did some pretty crazy wins back in the day. Bit of an odd beast, but Vampire Vamp is an amazingly good card. Just... problems in Vampire decks for obvious reasons. Set up a board state where the enemy has to field an unprotected boss monster (Harpie excelled at this), get her down, swing for lethal or close to it. Comboed nicely with HPPD letting me run the setup comfortably.

The grand Jupiter can actually be really good as a side deck option for decks that use monsters in the grave, like the new simorgh deck, or from what I seen Salamangreat deck.

The Grand Jupiter would definitely be a great addition to one of my rogue decks. It's centered around summoning as my monsters as possible & negating attacks so I can stall long enough to use cards that reduce even some pretty powerful monsters down to the attack points of a level 4 monster. Of course, I'm not sure how well the deck would work competitively T-T I only play casually with friends & family. Seems like it'd be a nice addition though.

Vampire Vamp will always be my favorite. I picked up yugioh recently and decided to use vampires just like I did when I was in elementary school (Vampire Vamp wasn't around back then). Such a fun card to use especially in duel links when your opponent carelessly attacks vampire sorcerer allowing you to search her then summon her for free on your turn to steal that monster. Vampire Sorcerer makes her so much easier to play since it has a graveyard effect that allows you to normal any 5 or higher vampire monster without tributing.

I run the vampire deck on duel links and I actually use vampire vamp. It's saved me numerous times, also you can use cards to increase your opponents monsters attack and use vampire vamp, it will still absorb the card. Of course, this is my opinion that it's a veerryy good card.

Same here. Ive been using it with Sorceror to get it out on a normal summon and Pyriamid turtles to get it out of the deck and then just normal summoning on my turn. Oh sure theres a lot of ways to blow it things like Turtle or negate it but if your playing Vamps at all nothing else would have gotten you out alive either . its a fun deck though and I like it even in 2022

I have a deck that utilized Destiny Hero - Plasma along with cards that prevent the opponent from using spells or trap cards (like Sorcerer of Dark Magic and... I think Horus the Black Flame Dragon?). On top of that, the strategy involves cards that protect my monsters from being destroyed by battle and reducing all battle damage to 0. So basically, if I get that combo on the field, it can't be stopped. It shuts down the opponent's spells, traps, and monster effects, so their only choice is to try to take me down in battle, which is also rendered useless by Spirit Barrier and... I forget if it was a card that prevented my monsters from being destroyed by battle, or a specific monster that can't be destroyed by battle that I was redirecting attacks towards. I did have it kind of have my deck built to get this setup easier than the natural way, but it was still hard to set up. Rightfully so, since it completely shuts the opponent down for a slow defeat afterward.

It wasn't until you were at #3 or so I thought of Cyber Dragon infinity and "Is my favorite archetype gonna hit number 1?" I was very glad when it did. I currently have an IRL Cyber Dragon deck that includes 3 Nova, 3 Cyber Twin, 2 Cyber End and 1 Chimeratech. I've found that there's actually a fair amount of support within the archetype that makes Cyber Dragon Nova easier to get out (and thus, Infinity) such as Cyber Dragon Drei, Cyber Dragon Core and Cyber Repair Plant.

Personally I would add D/D/D Wave King Oblivion Caesar Ragnarok. A high attack beater that has non-targeting, non-destruction absorbtion, gains attack equal to the monster attached with an already beefy body of 3200, on an easy to bring out fusion monster. And its relatively easy to bring out in d/d decks, as you can either cheat it out with gilgamesh on your opponents turn, or you can use dark contract with the swamp king to use d/d/d materials in the hand, field, or gy to summon it normally, on a continuous spell that is searchable by the normal or special summon of a level 1 monster, that is not only searchable by all the level 1 support, but searchable in it's own archetype, ala dark contract with the gate, both of which you run 3 of in a ddd deck

I could see using Grand Jupiter's absorb effect by discarding equipment spells to the grave and later having Gilford the Legend pick them up and give them any warrior of your choosing. Plus, with Escalation of The Monarchs you could tribute summon Grand Jupiter on your opponent's turn and use both abilities. Then on your turn after already swiping a monster & having it in your monster zone, using said tribute for Guilford is something else depending on what's needed. Discarding cards isn't always a negative thou, discarding 2 cards for 1 effect is indeed a disadvantage. They definitely could have improved this ability.

Top 10 trap cards that are also monsters while on the field(except paleizoics since they are an archetype on their own) like metal reflect slime or stronghold the moving fortress. Or top 10 continuous trap card effects, like Wall of Revealing Light or Spatial Collapse. Up to you to decide though which you prefer more for a video... or maybe both?

Fair enough, but paleozoics are no longer considered as trap cards when summoned from the graveyard. You're call though, so it's fine if you include 1 as either an example of what is a trap card monster or as a legit spot on the list.(I suspect it'll be number 1 as most trap card monsters I've seen are relatively underwhelming)

This was recommended to me. I haven't played this game since 2005. I remember Thousand Eyes Restrict being my boss monster. If I got that monster out, the only thing I had to worry about was a Man Eater Bug, Hane Hane, Magic and Trap cards. I miss this game sometimes. I see how it is played today and it moves WAY to fast, and all kinds of effects can go off in one turn. I wouldn't survive.

Vampire vamp effect is misunderstood, you can Special summon it and then normal summon any vamp monster, since its effects triggers everytime a vampire is normal summoned, and can be used multiple times if the opponent monster has higher atk than vampire vamp current atk

I remember when people wanted 101 banned years ago, and then Cydra Infinity came out. No one really complained about C101 for obvious reasons, but I didn't hear as much complaints about Infinity as would be expected. Oddly enough, all three of these were often played in the same deck, which used absorption and other non-destruction removal as a theme. Instant Fusion, Norden, and Ptolemeus were all punished because of Infinity, but infinity itself got off scott free, as did the other non-destruction removal cards.

Plasma is actually pretty sick in duel links. If you run it in fur hire you can quickly flood the field with all the special summoning effects

NumberC101 can be a bit dificult to summon, but the effect to absorb a special summoned monster and come back to the fild giving you 2800Lp is realy good. Using quik caos you can remove up to 4 monster from the fild, with 2 of them do not actividades thair effects when they leave the fiald.

I still play Cyber Dragons in Master Rule 4 (OTK build with decently easy ways to get out Qliphort Genius, Infinity and Hope Harbinger, sometimes in the same turn or on the same field state), sure they don't have much competative success against high tier decks anymore, but I can win if I OTK or stall enough, and lower tier and casual decks fall to it more often than not. With Qliphort Genius out, they can be a force to be reckoned with in Master Rule 4, and Megafleet is a nice disruption card if nothing else imo, and Stealth Union or Cyber End off the floating effect of Nova have won me games recently as well, let alone every time I get Hope Harbinger and/or Infinity out to screw with people (usually having used/set Solemn Strikes and/or Warning/Judgement).

Vampire Vamp gave me flashbacks to that Vampire chick form the GX campaign in LOTD, she has 3 of those and constantly brings them out to absorb all your best cards, it’s infuriating

That can only be summoned by it's special summon effect, and not by any other means, and restricts you to only being able to attack with it

Another way of bringing out Underground Arachnid off of a single card: Normal Summon Armageddon Knight, ditch Plaguespreader Zombie to the grave, then special summon Plaguespreader from the grave and synchro. This is also a good way to bring out Brionac and other generic level 6s.

Cyber dragon infinity is so easy to bring out in dinomist with 3 negates and useing half your deck first turn thx to traptrix trap, dinomist charge, and believe it or not mermail cards (I also want to say some of the shark support like panther shark which gives you a chance to xzy summon a water xyz like number 94 to it's a boss version that's really good)

Silent Honor Ark was one of the best additions to Yugioh, period. Before its release, defense position was a largely irrelevant, or at best incidental mechanic. But Ark added the dynamic where you had to carefully consider your boss monsters' battle position, and gave Def Pos real tactical merit. But then Castel had to come and ruin it. At least Lightning Storm brought back the same decision making, though it's not nearly as ubiquitous or threatening as Ark used to be.

Thousand Eyes is still a nightmare to combat. If it happens to be summoned during a period where you're somewhat dry in counter spells/traps, it can be game over as soon as he shows up. Worse, many times, someone running a deck with TER will also have wicked things such as Lava Golem. For those who don't know; Lava Golem is a 7 star 3k Attack, 2500 def beast that is special summoned onto your OPPONENT'S side of the field by sending two of their monsters to the graveyard. As a penalty, they take 1000 LP damage per standby phase. TER, and by extension, Relinquished, would often be summoned shortly after Lava Golem was summoned, who in turn was not summoned until the opponent's spells/traps were determined or destroyed. So imagine this: Your spells and traps are dry, you feebly are on the defense with two monsters and are setting up to either tribute or summon something bigger. Whups, your two monsters are now gone and instead you have Laval golem. Oh wait, no you don't, your opponent summoned Relinquished/TER and absorbed Lava golem and now is slapping you in the face for 3k LP, and while they stall out the game with this, they are likely building forces for that inevitable moment you DO manage to remove TER from the field.

If you run vampire vamp with vampire sorceress you can normal summon her without tributing by activating the graveyard effect of sorceress.

I remember playing yugioh 5d's stardust accelerator (a nintendo DS YGO game I played a lot), one of the very first duelists you encounter has super vehicroid. And I can guarantee you, when you're basically at the beginning of your game, having a super Vehicroid in the face feels like having a shooting quasar dragon in the face (at that point in the game, your best monsters are most likely at best 3000 ATK. Your attributed boss monsters were gaia knight force of the earth and the creator Ironically, the game didn't consider super vehicroid as this roid themed duelist boss card, instead it was super vehicroid jumbo drill, which was easier to bring out I guess?

I would have made room for C101 Silent Honour DARK on the list. Sure, somewhat harder to bring out than ARK, but better absorbtion effect by far - no XYZ material discard, returns to the field at end phase and can then absorb more material and replenish LP in doing so. All in all a super durable monster that can take out boss monsters easy and increase LP all at the same time. Infinity defo Number 1 though

I remember when Synchros came out and Plasma was one of the best cards in the format. Negating your opponent's monsters. Also don't even need a D HERO for a tribute like Dogma did. One of the best counter to Stardust and well Blackwings. Especially Armored Wing. But once Quasar came out the less times it was played. :/ Kinda sucks that one absorbing and negating card started to play less.
