The cow, a revered animal in Hinduism
In the Hindu religion, the cow has acquired a sacred status. It used to be sacrificed like other animals and offered to the gods and its meat was eaten. The cow was gradually incorporated into a religious ritual and itself became sacred and an object of veneration from the 4th century BCE. गाय का दूध हड्डी को स्वस्थ्य रखने में भी सहायक होता है. हड्डियों के विकास के लिए दूध का सेवन काफी महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है. खासकर बच्चों और युवाओं के हड्डी स्वास्थ्य के लिए दूध अच्छा माना जाता है.
गाय के दूध में विटामिन-ए होता है. विटामिन-ए आंखों की रोशनी को सुधारने में मदद करता है. विटामिन-ए की कमी से आपको रतौंधी, आंखों के सफेद हिस्से में धब्बे जैसी आखों से संबंधित समस्याएं पैदा हो सकती है.
गाय दूध कैंसर के खतरें को कम कर सकता है. दूध में विटामिन-डी उच्च मात्रा में पाया जाता है. एक रिसर्च की मानें तो दूध और डेयरी उत्पात का सेवन कोलोरेक्टल कैंसर, ब्लैडर कैंसर, गैस्ट्रिक कैंसर और स्तन कैंसर से बचाता है
