It means he's not used as a main, but a player may still decide to use him if they feel like their main would be at a disadvantage. Cloud is a fairly easy character to use effectively, and as a result he's a popular alternative. I main with Link but I'll break out Ike or Cloud on occasion, thus they are my pocket characters.

It's the context that makes it great: Mr. R was facing Dabuz, who was up 2-0 in sets on him this year; Mr. R went down 0-2 in their (loser's bracket) set before making the switch to Cloud, and then managed the reverse 3-0 taking it all the way to last stock, last hit. It was clutch-as-fuck and that's why it's deservedly #1.

People really give Cloud and Cloud players too much hate. Sure, he's not as difficult to play as some characters, but you generally have to have very good fundamentals to play Cloud at a top level. You have to play defensively to not get tossed offstage because Cloud has a horrendous recovery. And, of course, characters like Sheik and Bayonetta can gimp him very early. This character doesn't give you free wins and isn't overpowered whatsoever. People seriously need to just learn the matchup instead of complaining about a decently balanced and very strong character.

I think he is a little too strong. But I agree he isn't the problem people make him out to be. Rosalina is a problem. I enjoy playing against cloud because you always know what mistakes your making.

The only thing I disagree with about is how LCS (Limit Cross Slash) has literally 0 cooldown. Other than that, pretty well balanced overall.

Dreadfury Cloud is kinda overpowered. People can still learn the match-up pretty well and beat him, but that doesn't make him any less broken or more fair. He's beatable, but still unfair.

If Cloud does no longer becomes faster and stronger when he has limit break on, have some end lag on limit cross slash, and some end lag and landing lag on Uair, then Cloud wouldn't be broken. With this nerf, Cloud and anyone who mains him, won't get any hate, and he will become a balanced character. They could probably make charging the limit break slightly faster tho...

Cloud's side B limit break is pretty over powered. I mean that in the sense that it comes out realllly quick and has like ZERO cool down time. You can barely punish it.....a move close to the strength of a falcon punch and comes out faster, yet no ending lag

i just really hope DLC isnt in the next game. when i was a kid playing these games, i loved unlocking characters and stages. it gave a sense of accomplishment. but now all you have to do is pay 5.99 for bayonetta or cloud and you can win most matches with little to no practice.

Imma be honest and say.. Cloud isn't hype, literally its throw out random aerials and charge limit until you can kill with it... No skill is required with Cloud, maybe the occasional read but that's all. Bayonetta actually requires skill so she is "more hype" than cloud is.

Any character with a long-charging one-hit move is going to be hype just due to the craziness that happens when their move is charged. Also, Bayo more skill than Cloud? How many times have I seen Bayo spam witch time then get a 0-death when it connects?

RipleySawzen Since the patch? Not as often as you think, sure its an easy way to wrack damage, but the combos and potential of it is pretty hype. With cloud, you get rewarded for making mistakes with limit break since it charges when getting hit, and unlike little mac. It cannot be knocked out. Plus 90% of clouds run away or throw the opponent away to charge it up.
