Coming from the northeast I have to say for those who follow non league football its happy days. I can see South Shields in the National league in a couple of seasons time, Spennymoor have a very good side at the minute and Gateshead are also doing well and Darlington are getting their season up and running after a dip in form. As for Salford love them or not they have big ambitions. Good show as always Luke.

Went to Shields earlier in the season in an official capacity, and the infrastructure is horrible. They’ve clearly got ambitious plans and all the best to them, but it’s almost like they’re wanting to get up as quickly as possible without focusing on the inside of their club.

Since this recording Hashtag United is on the verge of winning their league. I have been watching them this year and seen them grow as a team. Sure they don't represent an area but an idea...There are plenty of clubs that don't have their area in their name, does that make them less of a club. Hashtag has a fanbase that is world wide. That is un-heard of if your not a top level club like Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona etc, etc...Maybe the fear of the future makes them a target of criticism... The ideal of normal people coming together to build something they love and seeing how far it can go. Is a story we all can relate to. Maybe the critics are those that don't have the courage to succeed or fail.

I realise this is a few years old . But I want to make a good case for my club . Halesowen Town . Who after recent times , being beset by off field problems . But with new owners , are really beginning to make progress . Unfortunately beaten by a good Concord Rangers side in the trophy. We fully expect to win promotion this season to the Southern Premier Central . A club very much on the up .

I had the idea that they should have 3 teams up/down between league 2 and the national league. My idea was that the top 2 go up automatically and then 3rd-6th have a play off and the winner plays the 22nd placed team in league two for a place in the football league. As it stands now, Eastleigh (who finished 7th) could go up, so I don't think this idea would be to any detriment of the quality of league two. Plus there are plenty of teams in league two who are just plodding around (such as Morecambe) so this would give them a bit of a kick up the arse. Surely they will think about 3 up/down in coming years?

Good video, and great to get some Non League news, it seems like there is a lot going on at the moment, which is good. I have a question, which isn't related to the video, but I'm curious. Who are Kidderminster Harriers main local rivals, both now and historically? Bromsgrove, Stourbridge, Halesowen, maybe even Solihull Moors, Telford or Hereford (I guess that is a little too far)? Or do they see themselves as aiming higher and the likes of Walsall, West Brom, Wolves, and Birmingham are more their rivals? The biggest rivalries are usually based on the two teams being in the same division for most of their history, but I'm finding it hard to think of teams in and around Kidderminster that fit this bill. I'm curious so if anyone knows, or even if NLYT can let me know I'd love to know. On another note and maybe a suggestion for another video would be non league clubs that climbed up to what is now the National League at some time, had a certain amount of success, but have now declined, or even worse gone out of business. Not far from me is Tamworth and Hednesford Town who both were in what was then the Conference, but the funding dried up and they have plummeted down the divisions. Maybe you could do this as a series and on a region by region (by conference - Northern, Southern, and Isthmian), just a thought. I know it would probably take quite a bit of research time to do this, but I do find your depth of knowledge of all things non league interesting, and would love to hear more.

Bromsgrove Sporting will hit the same barrier as Bromsgrove Rovers and that is catchment area. They can only go so far in the catchment area they are in and once they money dries up they could again find themselves in trouble. Scarborough have and always have had a good fan base. With the new stadium then as long as they don't progress too rapidly then they will do well and could reach the National League within 5 years. Billericay aren't stable enough to be taken seriously as a possible Football League club. Kidderminister, no bias from yourself there :) They should be at a higher level but the Football League is way in the distance. Fylde will be OK until the money dries up. South Shields should progress but there is a lot of history of clubs from South Shields failing. A couple of more clubs to watch, York City, once they move into their new stadium and return to the Football League will follow within a few seasons. Secondly Bradford (Park Avenue), might not reach the Football League but the National League can't be far away.
@maxwatson566 жыл бұрын
I’m a Fylde fan and whilst I’m not going to deny that our owner is investing a lot, most of the money he puts in isn’t into the team itself. A lot of the money goes into the facilities and also stuff like the restaurant and bar so the club can be sustainable if he leaves. Also if you look at our transfer dealings we actually have an average budget for the national league with a lot of our players coming in either frees, loans or after being released by football league academies.
@GenialHarryGrout6 жыл бұрын
@@maxwatson56 That is commendable and a better way of running a club instead of the boom and bust we have been seeing in non-league over the last few years.

Very true, you could argue that Bromsgrove have no further potential fanbase to tap into, if you go west there's kiddy, north is the brum footy League clubs, west is Redditch (cold day in hell springs to mind before anyone from Redditch would give the 'grove' any time of day), and heading south there's Worcester. From experience it seems the fans still live off the glory days of the 90's, and in truth that's the only reason attendances are so high currently

I feel like Tamplin is the biggest joke of a club owner. He’s fucked about with Billericay to no end, he’s just a bit of a nutter and, put it this way: if you’re challenging for promotion and losing to relegation battlers, twice (to East Thurrock United, once in the Essex Senior Cup and once in Nat’l South), you’re a bit of a shit club.
