Great stuff as usual bro! There's definitely a bias against characters having their first appearance in magazine sized comics. But hey, people are free to collect their own way. Since I enjoy collecting them, that means less competition in acquiring high grade copies. With that said, some of them are going for a substantial price.

I really agree. Certain ones are still sought after but there are a lot of collectors who seem to avoid the mags. I have an almost complete run of the Deadly Hands Of Kung Fu magazine from the 70s and the B&W artwork is amazing. They are difficult to come by in high grade.

Bought a Spectacular Spider-Man 101 today! Paid $30 for it and it's in great shape, not sure of the grade, hoping it's a 9.0. Some stress marks around the upper staple and top corner is a little blunted but not terrible. I was on the fence about it but figured since it's really hard to get a higher grade copy I decided to pull the trigger.

That Spec Spidey 101 is really hard to find in the wild. Ebay prices are too high for my liking but a high grade copy is d3finitely on my list.

Great goal books check-in, Swagg! I also like that Daredevil 8 - it's the first Silver Age book I got, back in the 80s! I upgraded this year to a nice possible 7-7.5. My only big goal this year is FF 49 or 52, but I have a wafer-thin comic budget, and I keep impulse-buying other fun books like Star Trek 1, Fantastic Four 33 (first Attuma), and working on my Hulk run in Tales to Astonish! 😄

Good luck finding that Thor # 129 for 50 bucks. Its going for twice that even a low grade copy will run you 60 bucks. But this is a solid list for investment without breaking the bank. I have most of them already and purchased for many of the same reasons you pointed out. Still looking for that Spec Spidey 101 though !

Eternals #1 is a great idea at that price; not only b/c of the MCU but Eternals is still a huge part of the comics and especially this summer

Swagg - what about midgrade copies of Wolverine 1, say 4.0-7.0 in raw format? Is that worth considering with all the current spec value, or does collecting Wolvie 1 have to be at the 9.8 level?

Marvel previews back in the day was similar to savage tales their comic books with original stories just in magazine format Let’s not confuse marvel previews from Back in the day to the new type of previews now which arnt story based arnt comics an are simply for promotional purposes

I actually just got both Spider-Woman 1 and Xfactor 6 for right at $50 this past month, granted raw but Xfactor was NM and SW was a FN+

Yeah all the books im talking about for this would be “Raw” and the idea would be to try to find the highest grade version you can for each book at the price range.

Where are you looking? Before I released the video I made sure that every book I talk about have copies on EBay available around the price range (and yes even wolverine 1 does). Not to mention all the other places you can buy books. And all the great deals that come around on live auctions.

@@Swagglehaus There's a FN.VF raw book on Ebay for 46 but it's one book. Honestly, no one should be investing in anything less than a VF when it comes to books from 1988/.
