Eric, it could be a skin chemistry thing, could be a combination of tastes & olfactory interpretation, who knows? Chanel's Platinum Egoiste is supposed to be one of the more elegant men's perfumes (at least in the Designer realm) of the past 3+ decades, but on my skin/to my nose, I get a horrible body odour smell from it. Saying you "can't trust Chad's judgement/recommendations" feels pretty harsh imo, especially when so many factors could be coming into play.
