And when those batteries need to be replaced, it will cost north of $50,000 (see above for the human cost and CO₂ cost for replacing its batteries). Even though that car is environmentally unfriendly, our host still takes a shot at trying to score points for himself. We see a fancy car, and we are absorbed into the majesty of it all. There is virtually nothing environmentally responsible about that car. Save the planet? Yes. But be honest about it. @5:34 -- Our host virtue signals, again. Next: All of the RGB lighting (or even RGB reflectors) are illegal to have on public roads in the USA. Red lights and reflectors in the rear, and white lights in the front. Yellow lights and yellow reflectors are also legal. So what you saw in this video will not be on the car you will buy. Perhaps they will sell it to you with the light show. But you will not pass inspection. And if you are involved in an accident, and your insurance company finds out about your illegal lighting (and they will find out), they will toss your claim to the curb. Lastly, the light show of spider headlights will become a nightmare. 1) If you need a replacement from a slight bumper accident, good luck with replacing those headlights. And it will probably cost north of $10,000. But that might be pocket change for people that can afford those cars. 2) All plastic headlights fog up. All of us have cars with film that covers the headlights after a couple of years. Can you imagine trying to remove the film from those spider headlights? Perhaps the car's owners will not care, because they will pay some staffer to spend all day toiling over getting the film off. So why do car manufacturers use plastic for their headlights? Because they can mold the plastic into any shape. And it is all about how it looks to get the sale. And when the car is new, the plastic headlights are clean / film free. Decades ago, when glass headlights were used, they never got covered with film. Cleaning them was as simple as using a wet rag. But with glass, you cannot have the fancy shapes we see in today's cars. So rather than having cars with glass headlights that never get contaminated with film, we all drive around with film on our plastic headlights -- just for their looks.

The problem with these "future" cars is that they have steering wheels. There are no steering wheels, there is no drivers seat, there are only transportation devices. So comfort and usability are paramount.
