No shit... best sitcom of the 90s..a s Phil Hartman's death was a tragedy.

@@ponfed Can't count out Frasier, Seinfeld, Married with Children, Just Shoot Me, Fresh Prince etc. The 90s had a lot of gems. It was definitely the peak of the sitcom era.

“Stargate Defender kept me out of Stanford.” So many awesome Dave moments in that episode.

Dave Foley always reminded me of a young Bob Newhart. His stammers and hilarious reactions to the others' craziness always made the scenes funnier. It ain't easy being the straight man and most of the time they get zero credit but Dave, Bob Newhart, Andy Griffith, Bea Arthur, Kenan Thompson, Kelsey Grammar, Jerry Seinfeld etc were masters at it.

You could make a "Top 1000 Dave Moments" and it would all be not just fine comedic acting but _impressive_ comedic acting. Literally 1000. It's like Phil.

Nothing from the episode where everyone discovers he is Canadian?In the 5th season episode where Matthew starts dressing like him, he has a line with a great delivery; "I'm so tired of you"
@thebrazilianatlantis1658 жыл бұрын
FWIW I find that particular line reading sad because although Foley and Dick loved and love each other, I think that week Foley was actually just tired of Dick (worst at remembering lines, routinely late to set, often high) and boy we heard it. Foley never spoke to Tierney quite that way a single time, no matter what wringer Lisa put Nelson through...
@ObsidianBehemoth8 жыл бұрын
Joseph Scott I described the wrong episode though. It was S5E03 Lucky Burger. Mathew is on a witch hunt through Max's past to get him fired.

It’s hard to keep things fresh by the time you get to the fifth season you really have to reach for the humor to be as effective. But it’s worth watching characters you love.

"Security Door," 414. But it's much funnier in context than it would be lopped out of the context. Dave Nelson has been gradually going crazier (literally, unfortunately) throughout the episode, and then the script tops that by itself becoming crazily impossible.
