Kristi Yamaguchi’s and Katherine Jenkins’s foxtrots were both incredible. Also, Laurie Hernandez’s cha-cha was especially powerful after that audience member threw himself at Ryan Lochte. She totally uplifted everyone watching after that happened. 🙌🏻

Bindi and Derek were amazing!! (she was 17 at the time), she won her season Jordan and Lindsey were amazing too! Jordan did not throw away his shot and he won his season if Wayne Brady wins his season, he'll be the 2nd Hamilton alumni to win DWTS after Jordan

If you look at Alphonso Ribeiro’s biography or are old enough to remember, he was a child broadway star way before he was on the Prince of Bel Air and the dance associated with him and that show.

But he wasn't an active dancer when he entered Dancing With the Stars. He may have had past experience and some muscle memory, but he wasn't in his prime either. Not saying he was out of shape, but he suffered a few severe injuries during his time in the show because of that. His accomplishments shouldn't be ignored.

To be fair, it took quite a while for DWTS to diversify their Week 1 dances. For the first few years of the show, the celebs only did the Cha-Cha-Cha or the Viennese Waltz for their debut dance. Then in Week 2, they would do a Quickstep (if they did the Cha-Cha-Cha) or a Jive (for those who did the Viennese Waltz).

I find it hard to get excited when I see a figure skater do well. They’ve spent their entire life learning complicated choreography, perfecting graceful movements, developing and maintaining extreme strength and flexibility. Converts pretty effortlessly to the dance floor.
