@MsMojo I completely missed that line for #8. While the changing of henchmen may indicate a more "intimate" relationship, it is possible that it may be a darker relationship. As you just said: "there is a fan theory that suggests that the fly was once human..."😅 That got dark real fast...😨

The Emperor’s New Groove is easily one of Disney’s most clever films, in addition to having the snappiest dialogue and joke delivery. So underrated! Okay, *now* I know what Kuzco was implying when he asked "He's like, what, in he's late 20's?" and Yzma anxiously says "I'm not sure." I honestly thought it was just an innocent question. Knowing Yzma, perhaps she *did* have more than professional intentions when she hired the sweet but not-so bright himbo, Kronk. It could simply be that she wears out each of henchmen out as she gets older herself and needs a new one to care for her each decade. Still, she could possibly have had *other* intentions too. In saying that, I don't really think anything like *that* was happening between Kronk and Yzma personally. I think even the suggestion of it would disgust Kronk. Still, if Yzma is anything like her actress, Eartha Kitt, I'm sure that she was a *very* attractive woman when she was in the prime of her life.

I don't think there's anything implied here and everyone's thinking into it too much. Kuzco is trying to make idle convo and doesn't know what to say so asks about this new henchman he doesn't know anything about, and Yzma not even knowing his age implies she doesn't give two shits about him really as long as he does what she says (and he has to be young and strong to carry out her orders as she's old small and weak). I reckon most employers would know the age of who they're hiring (even if it's a "late twenties" estimate) so it's more an implication that Yzma has no care or consideration for Kronk (or her henchmen in general). To think Kuzco is implying Kronk has a secondary purpose is a bit far fetched IMO.

That plothole joke is extra funny if you've ever had that happen IRL. There have been a few times when I've left after than someone, stopped for gas, and still got back before they did. A couple of times it was I who left first, went straight home and got there after some family member. In either case, it took a while to figure out how. Then there was the time one of my mom's friends was sleeping in the back of an RV while her husband drove through the night on the way to a friend's house. She woke up while he fueled up at a truck stop and went inside to use the bathroom. He took off while she was inside. She got a ride to the destination from another traveler and got there ahead of him. When he arrived a little while later, his mind was so thoroughly blown when she stepped out to greet him that he forgot himself for a moment and just stared until he ran into the side of the friend's carport.

Time to rewatch this movie again! I l❤️ Emperor’s New Groove! As I go back and rewatch these Disney movies I am starting to pick up on all the humor that was meant for adults.
