This is extremely helpful thanks. For me one of my main things is cleanliness and well maintained bathrooms and kitchens. Which would you say is best kept accom-particularly bathroom and also kitchen please?
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
Before you move in accoms are given a good clean but just know the cleans are not always the best. I wish i could tell you what the best kept accoms are but the fact of the matter is that you are the one who will keep and maintain your bathroom. Jarratt Hall isnt the best, I know that for sure.

Hello! I was wondering what accommodations you would recommend for me as I am studying abroad for my 2nd year at University of Birmingham from the US? I enjoy socializing. I've heard that the Vale is very social, but it's far from town and mostly first years. And I've heard that Selly Oak is full of 2nd & 3rd years and close to town but not as social. Just wondering what you think.
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend you stay at an accommodation in Selly Oak. I would recommend in this order: 1st Oak brook Park 2nd Battery park 3rd Bournebrook Selly Oak is a social place and the honest answer is that you will find first years EVERYWHERE. The "most social place" changes from year to year so next year it might be Selly you never know. To be honest, all of the accommodations are walking distance so you could always walk to the vale to visit friends.

Once you start paying and move in, the accommodations owned by the uni allow you to have people stay over. Basically, what you do is your choice

Does Jarrat hall ,Bournbrook have good space for a common and study rooms Do they have the luxuries of cinema room
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
Jarrat Hall have a common room but not a lot of people use it and your best luxury is talking to the funny security guards at reception. As for Bournebrook, they do not have a common room or luxuries as such. 😂

Are Jarratt Hall and Bournbrook noisy at night or morning because they are next to the main road? Thanks
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
Only one side of Jarratt hall is on the main road, so the majority of Jarratt hall is not noisy. As for Bournebrook, it is a bit noisier because it is on the main road.

@@dazzytalks Thanks for reply! How about Oak Brook Park and Metalworks? And also, are they having stricter rules for visitors because they aren't managed by the uni?
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
@@sin-hanyang8269 No worries my friend. Oak brook park and metalworks aren’t strict in terms of visitors. I stayed at oak brook park and probably had visitors 5/7 Days in a week and 21/24 hours in a day😂😂

Hi Very informal video. What accommodations would you recommend for exchange students coming to Birmingham in their 3rd year?
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
I would genuinely say if you are a 3rd year coming to Birmingham then you would be satisfied with any of the accommodations in Selly Oak. It really just depends on your budget.

How do I apply for sally oak court?
@klavierpayne32 жыл бұрын
Hey, First of all I want to thank you for making this video I just want to ask you a question that when is the right time to book a room in battery park because now the booking on their website is full so just wanted to know what is the exact month in which the new bookings open when a student is coming to the University on September. And selly oak is outside the university so do we have accommodations in the university apart from staying in the villages ?
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I enjoy making videos. I'm glad that you like them. In terms of Battery park, you should be able to list it as your first choice accommodation if you are applying through the University of Birmingham accommodation portal (although I'm not sure about opening and deadline dates) . You also have the option to call unite students or email them.
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
There are no accommodations physically on the university of Birmingham's campus. However, they are all very close to the university ranging from a 2 minute walk to a 20 minute walk. You have to stay in one of the villages. It will make better sense if you came and looked at the university.

Do accommodations for university of Birmingham sell out fast for en-suites or is there still usually space available on results day?
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure the spaces get taken up very quickly, be sure to pick your accommodations when asked by the university so you can get yours. It's not guaranteed that you will get your first choice but you should get one of your options. Once you move in you could always request a transfer to a different accommodation but there's always a waiting list.
@chulbulpandey1513 Жыл бұрын
Hey bro, are these options available for Postgraduate students also? On the website these accompdations are listed below the Undergraduate tab.
@dazzytalks Жыл бұрын
you would have to check the university website to find that out. Or you could email/call the accommodation services

Also, do you know which is the oldest through to the newest accom please?
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I do not know which is the oldest and newest accoms. However, the more modern ones I feel are Chamberlain, Selly Oak Court, bournebrook and metalworks. But remember, newer doesn't always mean better.
@DD-op5hf2 жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct. Just looking for well maintained. I did see a 2 when I visited (those were the only ones available to view) and I was surprised regarding the maintenance- bathrooms, kitchens of those particular ones! Ideally a comfortable clean environment is what I hope for, with access to shops.

Is having a car as a student difficult?
@dazzytalks2 жыл бұрын
I currently do not own a car. But you just have to take into consideration parking at your accommodation cost, parking around birmingham when you go out, the ULEZ fee, petrol, insurance etc.
