@@alexbeswick The joke is that the end of the original game makes no sense at all. The ship is indeed 1.17 km long, but the drive from the engine to the launch bay was something like 1.5 km. So longer than the ship itself. That does not even include mentioning that before starting the drive you take an elevator up, while the lauch bay is below the engine room and that the engine room is, not concidering height difference, right behind the lauch bay. You also pass an external docking pay which the designers oversized so badly that the area would cut the ship in 2 if it were real. While combat evolved was a great game, that last segment was just so ridiculous that people are still making fun of it 21 years later.

When one of my friends was coming over from school, we planned to build a spaceship using all the lego I had (which was a fair 'ole bit), but we didn't plan it out at all. It basically amounted to him raking through the box, picking out all the "coolest" parts (like rope bridges from pirate sets) and saying "lets put this on it!", and me saying "we'll use that later". What actually got built was basically a huge rectangle with a big control room at the front (and every car windscreen piece I had), and then a hangar at the back with a ton of small ships and tanks, plus two completely feeble "engines and tail fins" sticking out at the back. I ought to try again...

Not a lot of people talk about the fact they spend (5) years on these builds. Or thousands of dollars on loose lego. Knowing that these aren’t 4-6 week projects but more so 4-6 year projects makes me respect all of these people a lot more; Hopefully I’ll be able to present my own builds at a convention one day even if it is 5 years in the future. GOALS!

I got a real love for the Halycon class (pillar of autumn) ships after playing some Sins of the prophets. They just soak up SO MUCH DAMAGE while being so small in comparison to bigger ships like the Colonial refits .

lego should hire the first guy to design sets. If that ship was available I would buy it.

Remember to judge a ship by more than just its size. While large ships are impressive, smaller ships can be good, too.

Lego has to be one of the most brilliant toys ever invented. There aren't a whole lot of children's toys that appeal to a massive adult audience, and fewer that appeal to both male and female customers. Probably because you can make anything from a toy castle to a drivable Bugatti

the support and understanding for the first guy is wholesome. I bet you he was embarrassed reading these comments though.... Regardless, he did the toughest thing to do with any anxiety, which is face it head on. So without a doubt he deserves props.

I remember when I was a kid I was fascinated with the m-tron spaceships Lego came out with and have built some massive ships myself using our family's pool table in the basement. Oh by the way I still have a spaceship I built in 1992 in our china cabinet, called the hammer.
