Bringing them back isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Bringing them back thoughtlessly is. I can’t come up with a reason that bringing extinct creatures back to life on a planet where they can have no significant impact on humanity is. A planet such as Mars. Of course the planet would need to be terra formed first, but once that is possible, there should be plenty of options to resurrect extinct species in a way that minimizes the danger to humans.

It's just an educated guess based on fossils they've found. Not just among megaladon shark fossils, but other prehistoric creatures that may have bite marks from megaladon sharks in their fossils, so it allows them to guess. Honestly, I doubt they know for sure. Keep in mind that the t-rex has moved temporarily from predator status to scavenger back to predator status once, so that should tell you that not even most scientists are sure about these creatures.

@@Jonas-lj8ul I doubt you would live anywhere close to the habitat they would need. I think people look at prehistoric animals as something to fear, but the human encounters would be rare. I mean most Canadians already have an issues with Wolves or at least did, and pushes deer populations higher, which causes hunters to claim they are required to keep the deer populations in check. In my opinion humans shouldn't be the one to keep populations in check. Keep the animals that were meant to do it, or bring animals back that could. Just give them territory and it will work out. The alternative would be humans deal with it, but the track record isn't overly good. Especially if the goal is to control all populations, it's better left to nature. As humans cause most recent extinctions, maybe we aren't the best choice to control populations, food for thought.
